Trying to play devil’s advocate here, but when people say that Nintendo doesn’t release new IPs, what they truly mean are games that meet the following criteria:

For example, one of your complaints is that the weapons “vary slightly in range and power” even though Patricia, in her review that you seem not to have read but nonetheless feel compelled to complain about, praised the game’s variety…
I mean.....I dont think the release of Splatoon suddenly makes that complaint invalid. If we start seeing a trend of new Nintendo IP, then great. But one new IP every 14 years isn’t what I’d call “enough” (Pikmin was in 2001)
