Authorities pulled a metallic brown 1966 Chevrolet Impala from the river...”

Oh, I got out of that abusive relationship. I don’t have any RX-8s any more.

I had three RX-8s and raced them. Believe me, I know. It was in jest.

Mazda RX-8.

Hold up. The field and stadium around it each have different names?

I mean...none of us has enough information to really say that with any certainty.

I’ve spent a lot of time on many tracks. I’ve even had an accident very similar to this Mustang, hitting a barrier and ending upside down

One of those assholes has a gun. That should come with higher expectations.

Hypothetical examples don’t excuse their attitude. If they don’t want to ‘suffer fools,’ there are plenty of options besides going full on ‘do everything I say or else!’ if efficiency is really their concern.

“When we say do something you fucking do it.”

I’m all for outlandish ideas and trying new things…but not everybody should be encouraged to follow their dreams.

Honestly, I agree with you. I should have said 300 is kind of at the upper limit of what I think makes sense. Easy access to 400, 500, or 700hp is sort of ridiculous.

I think we’re honestly on the same team here, just arguing past each other. I think modern counterparts of fun cars like mine are way, way past what they should, or need to, be. And I’m making the point that mine is probably more powerful than I really should have bought. I don’t need 300hp to have fun driving. I

I have a 996. It’s definitely not ‘nuts.’ On the mountain roads here, it’s fantastic. Though, like I said, something less powerful would have let me use more of it more of the time.

Honestly, I think 300 is probably enough for a smallish car. Given the way cars and crossovers have bloated? Probably 400.

I mean...I wonder why it might be newsworthy...

I’m not sure the current era is so much different as it is an extension of the previous era. I’ve had eight Subarus since 1999, and they are all practically the same car (bar the Justy I had). Subaru has been making the same thing for like fifty years.

I had the Escort version of that Tracer as a first car. I’ll tell you it’s one redeeming feature: it was hilariously cheap to run. Great gas mileage and it was practically un-killable.

Man, what a bunch of judgey bullshi…

I’m a broken record about the 996, but you can honestly get a driver in the teens. You don’t need a pristine example. Hell, I bought one with a rebuilt title. They’re absolutely fantastic things to drive.
