Every single-make or -model car club is full of dumb takes. They all believe that they know something nobody else does, and that their car is the most special.

And that sucks. That  just hasn’t been my experience.

Okay, I’ll come to the defense of cheap ‘oem quality’ parts on Amazon. Several years ago, I bought a cheap 2002 Explorer from a neighbor. I could tell it needed work, but I was resourceful, and I was addicted to race tracks, so I needed a tow vehicle.

Interesting. My (admittedly ignorant, and also notably neutral when it comes to Tesla) assumption was that Tesla’s manufacturing cost more than other automakers. They seem to make things up as they go. I think they take an interesting and iterative approach, but I have assumed that approach was expensive.

I’ve been to Boone many times. Nobody in that town drives over 20mph.
