Maybe it's because his Doctor came to us more or less fully formed (it took him like one episode to figure out who he was) as opposed to Capaldi who had to claw back his Doctor-ness from the cold, detached bastard he was to begin with, maybe it's just because I never liked David Tennant and resented him for replacing

It would ring a trifle hollow coming from the man who secretly recruited Peter as a child soldier to fight Captain America in the name of superheroes operating transparently.

I would throw up.

Not so much revolutionary as true to the character - Rogers has always been a progressive figure (except in the 50s, but that was retconned as being an imposter).

My opinion may be extreme, but to me the fact that he is in it at all is overuse in itself. Hell, if the trailer is anything to go by he coins the phrase "friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man"! Unforgiveable.

Still not on Twitter, guys.

Has she made a decent movie with Tina Fey? Baby Mama had its moments, I guess, but Sisters was a fucking wreck.

If you're open to checking it out I'd definitely recommend it. If your politics lean to the far right there are probably things you'll object to, but I thought it was actually fairly balanced and at times quite critical of people you might call "SJWs" (very often from the perspective of other black characters, mind

Haha, well I hope we've seen each other around here enough that you know I'm not alt right! Don't get me wrong though; if I was American I would've voted for Clinton in a heartbeat given the alternative. But she ran a terrible campaign, and she and her supporters have become so invested in blaming anyone and everyone

They really should have seen that one coming.

The contention that nobody wants to watch movies about teenagers is very odd. Maybe nobody you know wants to watch them, but surely you can think of a couple of movies off the top of your head that were hits and had teenage main characters. I mean, the original Spider-Man movies you seem to have mentally retconned as

B is a solid grade for a movie like this. Dowd doesn't throw As around willy-nilly, and nor should he. Two grades higher and Homecoming is on par with Fury Road in Dowd's reviewing history. That would be preposterous, even if it's an above-average good time at the flicks, which is what a B suggests to me.

We all know the mundane challenges of everyday life don't really serve the $150m tentpole summer movie very well, but what this review presupposes is…maybe they do?

Hard pass.

"That's what Parker gets for not pledging undying fealty to employers that won't give him a permanent job!"

*makes shaky hand gesture*

Nah man, mainstream liberals' Twitter feeds. But I guess if the Russians succeeded in their fiendish ploy there's no need for the Democratic Party to look at why their supposed core constituencies abandoned them in droves. Might as well run Hillary again in 2020, I'm sure everyone'll realise it's her turn then.

Yes! Exactly! Which is why the total deferment of self-reflection in favour of conspiracies about Russia (apparently Bernie Sanders is now thought to be an FSB agent by some Democrats!) is so damn frustrating. There my have been skulduggery on Putin's part, but to focus on it to the exclusion of all else, and to start

I dunno if this guy was banned but I think so; he was posting as 'sniff' yesterday and my one response to him now reads as a response to 'guest.'

Going for two bans in as many days, are we?
