Oh, I had no idea that was the case! Maybe I'll buy it on Google Play or something, because it's streaming on Foxtel Now and I have a rule about giving Rupert Murdoch money.

I haven't watched The Leftovers (it's not on any Australian streaming platforms I subscribe to and I can't really be bothered torrenting these days), but I'm interested to see what Lindelof does with this. I only hope it's a limited series, not an ongoing one, and that he understands the meat of the text better than

So are you arguing that it's an incredibly faithful adaption, or that faithfulness doesn't matter to the average viewer? Seems like you can't have it both ways.

The changes to Rorschach's first kill seem minor, but they're so huge in their implications that they fundamentally alter what the text is trying to say about vigilantism, imo. And that's just one thing.

There are so many ways to approach a text, and Snyder made so many changes, major and minor, that I am continually baffled by how common this "best of all possible adaptations" take is.

It's just that he has such a pretty face.

The DCAU is, on the whole, the gold standard for DC adaptations period. I'm really looking forward to my kids being old enough to sit them down in front of JL(U) in particular.

Has fun, smiles, rescues people without a sense of grim obligation, that kind of thing.

Is there really a Christian network called Morningstar? As in, Lucifer, the star of the morning?

You guys really need to try and learn the distinction between being mad at someone and making fun of them. I know it's difficult when you have no sense of humour and are yourself perpetually enraged, but I believe in you.

This is incredibly shallow, but I honestly think making her a brunette would have helped a lot.

It's not all that good, but the main cast were all basically perfect for the post-Crisis version of the characters.

Spacey not playing the billionaire tycoon version of Lex is definitely one of the most baffling cinematic fuck ups of all time.

Take that back about Christopher Reeve right fuckin now.

He's really bland and his line readings are uniformly terribly in MoS and BvS, but hopefully they'll let him loosen up a bit in future appearances, because I really think he has the potential to play a great Superman if given the right direction.

Sure, why not?

Frankly, I bridle at the suggestion.

Yeah, it feels really natural to me in certain contexts ("Someone left their stinky cheese in the break room fridge, could they please take it home this afternoon?"), but if you're not used to it it would definitely seem weird.

Oh, wanted to add: I'm sure the usage wouldn't be taught in most English classes, because Very Serious Grammarians don't like it and because, like you say, it is kind of confusing. That said, a lot of what Very Serious Grammarians believe about English is bollocks; there's absolutely no real reason not to end a

I'm 34, a native English speaker, and I've heard it used all my life. Maybe it's more common in the UK and Australia.
