That's the thing. I wanted so desperately to love Man of Steel, but it just didn't work for me. Then BvS doubled down on a lot of what I didn't like about it. I'd like nothing more than for Wonder Woman to be both a great popcorn flick and an enormous, world-beating hit.

Manimal won't actually praise the movie or even talk about it directly, but every single post he writes will include the phrase "MCU fanboys" and attempt to link that fanbase to Trump, despite the actual right wing leanings of the architects of the DCEU.

I actually wonder if there'll be a backlash against Wonder Woman from fans of BvS and Suicide Squad, who seem to overlap pretty significantly with the online reactionary fuckwit contingent. Like, "Oh the stupid liberal cucks only like this movie because feminism, Amazons are the REAL sexists" etc.

You might want to read Eric Clapton's actual comments then, unless you have and don't think the n word and a host of other delightful slurs are racist. That he had the coked-out temerity to make them while playing blues and reggae to a paying crowd is just the racist icing on the massive dickhead cake.

'Colour-blind casting' is actually a pretty longstanding tradition in the British theatre - Kenneth Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing in the mid '90s cast Keanu Reeves and Denzel Washington as brothers and it didn't inspire much comment at the time. Now, of course, internet dingbats would have a massive freakout.

You do know where I got that idea, because I said it in the post you just responded to.

Fuckin' reviews…how do they work?

I wouldn't bother. As he demonstrated in the thread about Zack Snyder's daughter, this guy's whole bit is pretending he can't grasp context or nuance in an effort to own libtards for their perceived hypocrisy.

I read the usage as being laudatory, but perhaps I'm being overly generous.

I already agreed with you man. Calm down.

Crispy roast pork belly with gochujang mayo, cilantro, quick pickled red onions, pickled jalapeños, and shredded green cabbage.

Wild that the writer of 'Kill The Innocent Unborn Child Why Don't You' and 'The Evil Muslim Refugee Invasion' also wrote a story where people who take a hard line on consent have an insidious agenda.

Five years you've been holding onto that one?

Sorry, I was being obtuse. And you're right, of course - there are plenty of Superman stories out there, enough that fans and non-fans alike can just ignore the takes they're not interested in.

I've actually never read Secret Identity, but I've been meaning to for years. Busiek displayed more understanding of Superman in the first Samaritan issue of Astro City than a lot of writers show in years of actually writing Superman. Once I'm through my weird little backlog on Comixology I'll grab it and get stuck in.

Oh, I get you.

Well I'm sure one these dickheads will have the follow through to get them investigated by the state regulator and thus strike a blow against the oppression of men.

Yeah I sure do love being bigoted against myself. It saves time and other people's feelings.

You are right that I do not care about this instance of inequality.
