the point of carplay and AA is that they would never go obsolete - the phone updates contain carplay/AA updates. All the software and updates are on the phone. there’s very little in the car’s hardware besides connection stuff and maybe a small handler that’s pretty simple. My daughter’s carplay in her civic works

I think we just need to go back to double-din units so that people can do what they want instead of being locked-in to whatever design the OEM came up with.

So... other commenters have touched on some issues, here:

Two issues with this in the US:

1] reversing cameras are required. Therefore a built-in screen is required.
2] last I looked, lawmakers were in the process of demanding that cars came standard with AM radio.

I mean... I *guess* you could have a built-in screen that handles the camera, the AM radio, and whatever vehicle

will introduce potential security risks to our customers”

You have to appreciate the hubris of a company that can say, Sure, Apple and Google have hired the best UI designers in the world for decades now, and they probably know more about how people interact with screens than literally anyone on earth but... I bet we could come up with a better interface in 12 months. Our

Worse. This has to do with making government fail to function so government itself is eliminated. This to “prove” that government is corrupt and leaving only Trump and the oligarchs in control of America.

Spooky. There’s an initial sound of the implosion and then a couple steady beats from echos from the implosion. These beats almost sound like heartbeats.

Honestly, I wish he would go back to the golf course.  He needs to be lying with a pencil and not a pen again.

Every accusation is a confession

First, it’s always humourous to see people like Trump and Musk, who are famously almost never in an office and constantly on social media, bitching about people working remotely!

And now most of these workers will be fired for 1) being late to clock-in because nowhere to park, 2) not sitting at their assigned desk, one that doesn’t exist because nowhere to sit, and/or 3) they’re Black/Hispanic/Not-hot women/gay/seem gay/have a gay friend.

Like Cheetolini did for most of his first term. 🙄

It’s a neat truck that has survived this long. But at $6k it is too much.

I have the “poor mans” version of the same year - 2006 4Runner Limited. Same engine, same platform... same car, really, just without the Lexus badge. I’d pay $16K just for the Toyota without all the Lexus panache... because the damn car is THAT good.

This platform is reliable as hell, parts aren’t overly expensive

How is that considered bad to you? These had a recall for the dash (which is now closed), so having that done is a good thing. Also the windshield isn’t anything odd at all, windshields chip over time and any car with 170k will certainly not have the original windshield.

I work at a Lexus dealership. My job is to work with customers in the service lane who want to sell or trade-in their aging Lexus. I’ve seen these, regularly, with over 300k miles and still running like new. We took one in on trade once with 350k miles, it was in good enough condition that we could put it on the used

These are notorious for having cracked dash’s.

Wait until you find out what the a-bomb testing did to people.

Ah back in the good ‘ol times when America was truly great!
