Because the average Jalop is young and poor and has no idea at all what it is like to be in your 50's, peak of a good career, no mortgage, no student loan debt, no kids at home, etc. So they can’t begin to understand the concept of buying a toy car just because you want the silly thing.

The LS was never based on the Avalon chassis. The Avalon is a FWD car, and the LS was RWD or AWD. They were originally based on the Toyota Celsior and then the Century. The current model is based on the TNGA-L platform which underpins the LC, Crown, and Mirai.

Oh of course, but knowing that doesn’t make me any less fond of those days. Step aside from the world in general here, because I didn’t intend to be political.

Price is a bit dear for what it is, and the mileage; but with a used car you’re also buying ownership history, and if I still lived in the area and wanted such a car, I’d take a test drive and have a look at those dealer service records.

What’s wrong with you?

How can Americans afford these types of sentimental, overpriced purchases with all the GLOBAL CHAOS, IMMIGRANT INVASION, and CRAZY INFLATION!?!?!?

To be fair, $30k in 1997 is about $60k now. This was a pretty nice ride in ‘97.

Could be a flipper, could be a collector, could be a guy unsatisfied with the $50,000 minimum price of buying a new AWD minivan.

It’s one of those NP for $10k. But if you’re buying this car, you’re not buying it to be your daily. Which means the reason you’re buying this car will allow some room for spending a little bit more than you should and be alright with it. So, NP. Fun convertible, hp to spare, manual transmission, good condition. All

Many can’t do the work themselves, and these days paying to have it done will bankrupt you. My local Euro Indie is pushing $200/hr, and the dealer is $240...

on a NOTAM the warning lights on the tower were non-operational

I wanted to say ND, and the mileage is there to back that up....

They clearly expected people to skip over that bit, buried in the wall o’ text.

The first photo shows an obvious paint match problem between the fender and door. How do people not notice this? Silver cars with this issue are the easiest to spot.

Holy Moly...Best in California the dealer says? I can assure you there are at least a hundred better than this in that state.

Without getting into the best and worst MR2 generations or MR2 vs. Miata or MR2 v. Boxster (hadn’t thought of that, but yeah, prices are in the same range) I will just say I like these cars, they are agile and zippy, which is what a small sports car is supposed to be.

The answer is a 2022+ VW Arteon with the Golf R motor and 7-spd DSG.

What was terrible about the 94 Mustang? It wasn’t as light as the foxbody but IMO looked much better and had a much nicer interior. I even feel the SN95 looks better than the new S650.

Another counterpoint:

Love’s has always been good to me, their bathrooms are always clean. I was just about to write a similar post but you beat me to the punch!
