To me, the point of Book Penny is that he's the more extreme version of Quentin: Taller, ganglier, more talented, and even less socially skilled. In the end he finds his niche, but it's kind of a lonely, dorky niche, and we're happy for Quentin that he finds something better than that. Agree with all above that Show

I also really liked Q showing dad his magic. Simple scene that really built his character and brought some genuine emotion. Disagree that book Q never grows or learns. It takes him a looong time, but by the end of the series I think he's a likable and admirable character.
