I feel like it's important to mention that many are genetically predisposed to bunions. Any street footwear that actually alters bone structure is either so tight that the wearer isn't wearing the right size or it's a ballet pointe shoe.

A good friend of mine just had horrifically painful surgery for bunions. She never wears heels, is an OT and very aware of ergonomics and risk factors, and did everything right, but there you go ... her mother and both grandmothers had them too.
