Have you tried changing the USB setting on the phone? It's been ages since I've plugged my phone into my computer, but there should be some sort of USB mass storage setting, instead of a USB debug setting.
I'm confused as to why option A doesn't work. Is there some sort of error message you're getting? Do you plug it in to the computer and nothing happens? How did you get the music on the sd in the first place?

I have a feeling you're trying to make it more complicated than it is. You should either be able to plug the phone into your computer as a USB storage device, or take the card out and plug it directly into your computer.
