Hey, Sophie, you know what else is taboo to discuss?
Hey, Sophie, you know what else is taboo to discuss?
Seriousquestion: what does it matter now tgat the Mountain is Ser Robert Strong and covered head-to-toe in either 1 armour or 2 (presumably) CGI’ed zombie skin rendering?
Right?!
It’s cute that you think the FSB’s ties to KLab amounts to a single spy here, some reverse-engineering there. No. Those amateur hour tricks are for democracies where businesses enjoy the rule of law. Russia is a kleptocracy owned by strongmen, oligarchs, and the mafia. Putin gets what he wants.
You’ll take Kaspersky knowing it just handed over its source code to keep those juicy US gov’t contracts?
I think it’s more indicative that it just doesn’t care. There is talk in US govt circles that asking KLab to share its source code was a bluff to gauge how valuable the FSB seems KLab’s contracts with US agencies. More valuable than its reputation? Apparently so.
Putin’s Kremlin does ask, and has asked, for this kind of info from Russian cybersecurity businesses. I posted a link to an article elsewhere on this thread about a KLab employee who was arrested and charged with treason while at work. They put a bag over his head and walked him out. No doubt he’s since disappeared…
I fear I didn’t answer this question well enough so I’ll try again. The problem with US gov’t agencies contracting with a company incorporated and located in Russia, which has been engaging in cyberwarfare against the US as well as many other democratic countries, is simply that it isn’t answerable to US laws and…
I can’t tell if you’re trolling or just unaware. But Eugene Kaspersky is ex-FSB and his Lab is well-known for maintaining relationships with the current FSB. (See Wired’s profile, I think someone refered to it above).
I agree.
You’re not wrong. But I am as straight-edge as they come yet I have empathy and a level-headed recognition of what works (compassion, regulations, public health programs) and what doesn’t (stigma, demonising, DARE).
SCIENCE:
So sad. Toxic Hollywood.
Aside from the increased pressure to go on publicity tours and press junkets there was also the increased pressure to lose weight for roles. I cannot imagine that helped matters.
You do realise that your goddaughter will grow up, yes? Someday she will be choosing her own role models. I’m a teetotaling never-tried-drugs square myself, but I am honest with my own children (in age appropriate ways) about “unpleasant” subjects like mental illness and addiction because, one way or another, they…
She WAS a good person. Through her writing and stage performances (one woman shows etc.) she helped many people also suffering from mental illness to understand their disease. I am one of them. As a person with bipolar I literally owe the real Carri Fisher (as distinct from the role she played as Princess Leia) my…
Her writing also helped save my life. I also have bipolar disorder and reading about her addiction issues made me consciously steer away from ever even trying to self-medicate with drugs or alcohol. I cannot imagine that I am the only one. I’m so grateful to her family for continuing her work to destigmatise mental…
So your co-jurors for the second trial were Trump voters and the asst DA was a young black woman? What are the chances they were also biased against HER. :-(
Right hence the refrain in scientific circles: “there is no alternative medicine, medicine is just what works”. So cannabis proved by clinical trials = medicine; shark cartilage = woo.
