Wexley (Greg Grunberg) dies. And I felt nothing! But Wedge Antilles is credited.

France here, saw it yesterday.
Ditto with my mom. Thankfully the arguments ceased when I said “He’s the direct opposite of literally everything that you raised me to be.”
I’m having a right old laugh at how clunky and bad this movie is, having seen last night.
Geez. Even for Abrams this was poor form. No memorable space battles or duels, just some badly chopped up sequences here and there. I mean, at it’s most superficial, that’s what Star Wars is to me. It’s why LJ and R1 are my favourites - the Holdo sequence, Snokes’ throne room fight, the Battle over Scarif and Chirrut…
Admittedly, I have only read the spoilers, but the whole thing sounds like eight year-old me wrote it while playing with my Kenner action figures after seeing RotJ in 1983.
“And then Emperor comes back! And he had a granddaughter whose good, but Han and Leia’s son was evil. And there are like a hundred thousand star…
And what couldn’t have been told without that?
I wanted to see new things, because I really like Star Wars. Instead, I just saw old things. A total lack of vision is what has defined this trilogy, which is disappointing because Rey, Finn, and Kylo particularity were all characters with so much potential. I hope lessons are learned.
“Sure, you kidnapped me, tortured me, murdered your own father, almost murdered your mother, tried to turn me to the dark side multiple times, helped destroy multiple worlds and murdered billions of people, all but destroyed the Resistance, and tried to kill my friends...but whatever! Smoochies!”

The discourse surrounding these movies is the worst thing about them. It transformed The Last Jedi from I movie I enjoyed into a movie I’ve had to defend, which is both ridiculous and exhausting. In their efforts to “protect” Star Wars from whatever forces they think they’re protecting it from, a faction of SW fandom…
If crying fucking fanboys had their way, this is the bullshit we would have gotten instead
No film, or any piece of art can be objectively bad, just SUBJECTIVELY bad to you. Just like the EU is subjectively a pile of rotting feral pig shit that should be killed again just to make sure it never comes back... in my opinion. See how that works? If you don’t like a film, fine. But for the love of all that is…
Yes, it was an OBJECTIVELY BAD movie. That’s why the three other people I went with, and myself, four people with completely different tastes in things, all loved it, and the entire theater cheered throughout.
“Objectively”
Snicker.
I got a sense that caging Dr. M. with intent to use his body for their own purposes fit in EXACTLY with Kalvary’s beliefs about their being entitled to use black people as they saw fit. They never thought “There in the cage is God, and he is black”; instead, “There is a black man with something we want, so we will…
Sometimes they deride performative and lucrative outrage culture like has mentioned before. I get that systemic social inequalities exist and I applaud those fighting for it. But what I don’t get is denigrating potential allies who may in their activism prioritize tangible legislatively addressable issues like…
I would also love it if whoever is responsible for these things now would permanently block this troll that keeps changing its username from following me around from vertical to vertical and continuing to harass me
And before I go, just one more comment
