I like Sanderson as an author a lot. The Mistborn trilogy was excellent, as were the other works of his that I have read.

Yeah. Self-publishign makes it really hit or miss. Stuff is either insanely epic (mainstream), or reads like a D & D campaign ($.99 kindle stuff).

Year. I read Eye of the World when it first came out. Couldn't get past the Winter's Heart or whatever- the one that took place during 36 hours or something and went nowhere. Then he died.
Good point, and I agree 100%. Also, I got John Dies at the End YEARS ago from this site. My favorite book ever, in fact.
