My list is so close to identical! I'd just slide Twilight Princess up to being just above Skyward Sword - in my mind they're so close that they're virtually tied.

Every time I play it, I just marvel at how great it looks.
To be honest, the Wii U already hit that point for me. Breath of the Wild is looking to run slightly worse on that hardware, but if it was even slightly scaled back it wouldn't. Mario Kart 8, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and Yoshi's Woolly World already look about as good as I'd ever want stylized games to look, and I sure…
Ugh, the "gimmick" accusation. I'll never quite understand that, since it's so darned nebulous (much like leveling accusations of "not being games" against some indie titles). Like, is an analog stick a gimmick? Because it wasn't standard until the N64 and Dualshock controllers. Is a touchscreen a gimmick? Because all…
It's heartening that the introductory lineup reveals that not every control configuration is possible for every game - more conventional titles can simply use the Joy-Con Grip arrangement (or Pro Conroller as the player prefers). It seems that everything you'd need to play any game is included in the box, and that…
To be fair, the earlier price being reported was $300. I can't say I wasn't mildly disappointed, since I thought I was going to have a console and a game for $300, but until a week or two ago we had collectively expected a $300 price point for the hardware.
Yeah, what happened to X? I did chuckle a little bit at the title of the new one. In terms of the character designs, I thought they were a significant improvement on the ones from Xenoblade Chronicles X, though I did love that game.
Eh, there's Snipperclips, Arms, Mario Kart (assuming someone doesn't have the Wii U version), Bomberman, and potentially a new Xenoblade and a new Square-Enix IP (not sure what the anticipated release dates are on those). These are only a handful of the things on the table at the moment - I don't think it'll be a bad…
Did you catch the stuff on Snipperclips? That's the only other one besides Zelda that I see being an early purchase for me. I like the look of Arms, but I'm not planning to pay more than $40 for it.
Maybe I just got incredibly lucky with my bundle, but it included both Nintendo Land and 3D World, which is about as good as a person could hope for. They really are great for different purposes - NL for parties and 3D World for long sessions with platformer fans or on your own.
Huh, I had no idea that you could get into the mountain with only 7 lasers. Consequently, I only got in after having activated all of them. Womp womp (not really, I loved the game).
As a person who disliked Super Mario Sunshine (aside from Super Mario Land, the only Mario game that's less than superlative), I didn't get that vibe from the new hat. Mario's movement and the environment didn't seem significantly impacted by the accessory, beyond the really slick use of it to jump across wide gaps.…
Don't be - it's one of the consoles strongest games, and one of the best side-scrollers I've played. Both the environmental design and the mechanics make it a stone-cold masterpiece.
Whaaaaaaat?! I mistakenly believed Tropical Freeze to be universally beloved. At least for me, it seemed the successor to the side-scrolling masterpiece, Super Mario World. To each his own, of course.
The new characters are compelling, since I used Bowser Jr. and King Boo quite a bit in Mario Kart Wii, and the Inklings are always endearing. That said, new tracks would likely have secured a purchase from me, and those don't seem to be present - I'll be sticking with my Wii U version for the foreseeable future. I've…
Good find! I hadn't actually seen a straight-up launch software list, though I hadn't dedicated much time to looking. Disgaea 5 is promising, and I'll likely pick up 1 2 Switch down the line, since Nintendo Land has been a consistent favorite for parties at my house, but the only ones I'll be picking up at launch are…
I'm not super-sold on the New Donk City stuff, but Mario smashing the hood of that taxi and using it as a springboard gives it a lot of good will, in my opinion.
Unfortunately, it's the section just after the two dragons guarding the gate. Part of the issue is that the game does one-on-one combat so, so well, but these sections emphasize projectile and multi-enemy combat; if I focus on the fast, stamina-heavy knights than some other jerk ambushes and attacks me. Ugh. I think I…
I think you might be right about the reasons for Spirit Tracks not living up to my expectations. Funny enough, it may be one of these scenarios in which I expected to dislike Phantom Hourglass, was pleasantly surprised, and expectations were higher for this one as a result. The similarity in mechanics may be a factor…
SWITCH SWITCH SWITCH! Hahaha, I only wish I was playing that this weekend. Being a giant nerd, I stayed up late to watch the presentation last night and was utterly thrilled. The console's been pre-ordered at a local Best Buy and I'll be kicking back, playing Breath of the Wild on March 3. Can't believe it's less than…
