That's the only one so far that I've "brute-forced." Pretty obnoxious, really. I appreciate what they were going for, but I don't know if it was my ears or my TV's sound that fell short of picking out the intended audio cues. In either case, i knew what I was supposed to do, but couldn't pull it off. Eh, even a

They have as much fun with the crossover as you'd expect on Paper Jam, and I say that as someone who doesn't even typically enjoy IP crossover events.

Heck yeah Wii U!!!

I'm getting my wife Stardew Valley for Christmas on GoG, and was truly disappointed to discover only yesterday that it uses a cursor for some navigation. WTF? This feels like XCOM all over again, where a company could code in controller support very easily, but opts for an antiquated mouse/cursor setup instead. I know

As a fellow person who doesn't go in for a lot of strict narrative in games, I found that Firewatch is a pinnacle of the form. Beautiful, beautiful game.

Good call! I didn't get around to Mario Galaxy until years after it had been released, and my goodness is it a top-notch experience, start to finish. We've really been living in a Mario Golden Age post-Sunshine (which I didn't care for), haven't we?

GOOD LUCK!

I never knew this! Thanks for sharing.

The badge system is one of those things that could come across as uninspired, but I'll be darned if I don't scroll through my badges regularly to alter my experience or battle strategies. This is the one place where I'll grant an advantage to older Paper Mario games over the otherwise superlative Color Splash.

This is a useful perspective, and fits in well with the context of other artistic formats - the limitations on hues and brushstrokes make painting or calligraphy unique mediums for expression, and this would be altered with a different kind of input mechanism (for lack of a less jarring term).

I never miss the chance to offer my own amusing tale of PS3 controller woes - my sole PS3 controller got so bad that it would simply choose options on DVDs and Blu-Rays (which is mostly what my wife and I were using our PS3 for last year). It would be this exciting challenge every time we wanted to select and option

I would strongly, strongly recommend Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam. It's got the same basic building blocks of the Mario & Luigi GBA games, but the visuals are a treat and the writing would be my favorite this year if Color Splash hadn't overtaken it. Haven't played Dream Team, but Bowser's Inside Story was also pretty

He was my favorite on Mario Kart Wii, along with Luigi, Birdo and King Boo, but Shy Guy has become my default on MK8 (occasionally I swap out for Luigi or Ludwig Von Koopa). What great rosters!

Oh, never miss an opportunity to quote Gameological's finest moment.

My wife went as Toadette to a Halloween party once and actually made the pigtail/mushroom hat for her head. It was truly surreal to see it IRL.

I won't lie - discovering that Toadette is playable in Super Mario Run maaaaay be the main reason I want it now, haha. (not really but it's a good touch nonetheless)

If you're anything like me, Majora's Mask on a plane will wreck your sense of well-being. Ugh, that was the flight that I discovered motion sickness medicine is my friend for travel.

$20 would be my price point on that game too. I saw it on sale for $29.99 and almost pulled the trigger, but couldn't justify it with my other game purchases this year. $20 could do it.

Funny enough, I find just the opposite - despite growing up with 2D games (right on the edge of 3D), I've always found that 2D games feel more "designed", for lack of a better word. Like there's nothing that exists beyond the explorable space. 3D games, on the other hand, tend to feel to me like I'm just seeing a

I'll go to bat for pixel art every time. It could theoretically be a crutch, but no more than any other style. I'm glad it coexists with more "detailed" 3D styles, as it's so distinct in how it informs gameplay and your interpretation of the world. Kingdom: New Lands is sitting on my hard drive just waiting for me to
