If you enjoy Bioshock, I'd recommend checking out the Boundary Break video that takes you "behind the scenes" on it.

It's a lot harder to catch Pokemon in this game than past entries. I'm on the fence about it, because sometimes I just want to catch something and move on, but other times I appreciate the challenge. It's overall an appreciably more challenging game, which is nice. On the other hand, I spent (I kid you not) 20 minutes

It's hard to tell what facial expression my character is making underneath his gigantic Elton John-esque white sunglasses. Good heavens I love the fashion crap in this game.

Surprisingly, I seem to be on exactly the same track as the writers. I wonder how long that'll continue?

Whaaaaat?! I like Popplio, but I have heard there's a pretty sizable group of folks who don't like it.

That's a great point. I always think of X & Y/Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire as being 3D, since they're so visually distinctive from what came before, but I tend to forget that they are still grid-based. Stepping away from that is easily one of, if not the biggest, aesthetic improvement in the new titles.

Whoa, Wishiwashi is good? I sort of suspected that it was effectively the Magikarp of this generation, caught one, and moved on. Since Water is the main type missing from my team, I guess I'll have to consider throwing it in there…

Neat - you've been registered! Funny enough, Eternal Darkness was one of the ones I sold, haha. I actually turned a tidy profit on it, since I'd bought it originally at a discount. Still, it was in so-so condition so it hardly qualified for a really high price.

This may be sort of a silly question, but does anyone know how to invite friends to battle? I can battle with strangers, but I don't know how to intentionally engage with someone on my 3DS friends list…

That's legit. In fact, outside of Nintendo titles, I exclusively buy digital for just this reason. The artifact has literally 0 value to me - it's the same reason I've been rather keen on eBooks. The experience is what I desire, so I tend to go with VC or emulation for older games.

Good call on the link! Fast Racing Neo is also on sale, if anyone's been looking for that one - I know I have!

I fell away from the series hard after Gold & Silver, but finally came back with X and Y. The move to 3D was a massive improvement, I think, since it adds so much more flavor and character to the interactions and battle sequences. It is sort of the "same old thing," but they are finally taking steps to seriously shake

If it makes you feel any better, living virtually anywhere else in the developed world likely gets you reasonable holidays from work, unlike our maddeningly backwards hyper-work-ethic society.

Mechanically, it's easily the finest Pokemon game yet. Narratively that seems to be the case too. I'm weirdly unenthused about a fair number of the new critters (after loving the additions in the previous generation), but that may yet change. Island Trials… I'm on the fence about. It's a cool concept, but I also sort

It probably doesn't matter that much, but I'd like to make the recommendation to pick up Pokemon Sun in a hard copy. The games tend to imcrease in value over the years, and having a physical copy will give you the opportunity to sell it off at a profit in a decade or so. It's a gamble, but it might be worthwhile. That

What Am I Playing This Weekend?

That is likely Brick101 - his Mario 64 levels may be the greatest thing I've played on Mario Maker. They are extraordinary recreations, like Picasso's Nude Descending A Stairs but featuring Mario characters; it's somehow like looking at a 3D image in 2D, I guess is what I'm trying to say, haha.

@Gerardi: Just a quick tip, as I really wanted to catch an Abra too and was eventually successful - catch a Ghastly up at the graveyard, which either has or will learn Mean Look. Level up that Ghastly just a little bit and go back down to the city where you can catch an Abra. Put Ghastly at the start of your lineup

I actually liked it more than I was expecting to when I played through it for the first real time several months ago. It was the only Zelda game I had as a child, until Ocarina of Time came out, and I absolutely hated it at that age. Of course, it was so far outside the other games I was playing - Mario, Ninja

Playing through it now, I'm shocked at how great it is. I'd place it just below Twilight Princess (on dungeon design alone), but only narrowly. The aesthetics, environments, narrative and mechanics are all executed beautifully, and I think the cast of NPCs may actually be a step up from Twilight Princess - though
