I'm trying to picture someone explaining to their boss how it's actually a BYOD tablet for the purpose of improving efficiency, even as the beeps and bloops of a new Mario title repeatedly interrupt their explanation.

I was more disappointed than I expected to be in Breath of the Wild's delay. Obviously I support it, since more polish is always a good idea and I don't think Nintendo has ever released a game in the bug-heavy open-world style before; still, after completing Skyward Sword over the next few weeks, I'll only have the

I went on a cleaning binge last weekend (a whole darn house, but at least we do lots of little maintenance to keep it from going crazy). Thank goodness I spent the time on that last weekend, though, since I'm not sure I'll be budging from a stationary Pokemon stupor over the next two days!

This is a feature that I always appreciate in games. One of the Pokemon games did it fairly well, where you were given a quick recap upon starting the game up, but I think more recent titles (like DQVII) have done it even better, building these in as review options but not forcing you to watch them each time you pick

I haven't played a lot of DQVII lately for kind of an odd reason - it feels like it's not quite challenging enough. Battles consist largely of repeatedly tapping the button to make my character attack (I've automated the other party members), so it's an unfortunately disengaged experience for me. There was a slight

I'd imagine I'll be doing a writeup at the end of the year (I even got my commentary published on here for Super Mario Maker last year!), but hey, why not start now:

Have you guys played Ganon mode yet? It's as fun as it sounds (and one of the handful of features that was not brought over from the Wii U to the 3DS version).

Glad to hear that you'll be offering your thoughts on Sun and Moon next week. I can't wait to pick it up when I get off of work today! Only six hours to go…

You changed your avatar and I didn't recognize you!! You may be happy to know, though, that I actually figured out who was writing based upon your text style, went back up, and saw your username. You have a distinctive online voice!

Given my mood, and more generally the national mood, I really wish I hadn't wrapped up Paper Mario: Color Splash a few weeks ago. That would be the pleasant balm I need right now! Luckily, Pokemon comes out today at least.

If memory serves, the wind level is the worst level. So at least it's all up from here!

Wha?! No Turtwig? Are you mad? Haha. I think the second generation might be the only one where I go with a different starter every time I play. My most recent run on Soul Silver had me finally opting for Cindaquil, who I don't think I had ever started with before.

I'm with you entirely! Litten's nice but the evolutions… I'll pass.

I'm sooo on the fence. Rowlet was my first choice, but I think I like Poplio's evolutions more. Maybe I can get Rowlet and just never evolve him, hahaha.

I'm sure it's all a matter of supply and demand, but it might make you feel better that I was late to my local Best Buy and Target (despite arriving at opening) and they had sold all 50 of the units that each of them received. I think the fix was just in, unless one was willing to wait in line - I never am.

Are you planning to a video/blog series on The Witcher 3? It would give a presumably dismal 2017 something bright to which I would look forward.

It's like school all over again!!!

I was trying to pick one up and working out the details to figure out, when reselling it, what would be low enough to encourage legitimate buyers while keeping away people seeking to buy and resell at a truly exorbitant rate. I settled on $100, but it was all moot since the darn thing was sold out in my area. My plan

Oh my goodness, BoxBoy is so great! I haven't played the sequel yet, but the original is one of the best new Nintendo IPs of the most recent generation. It's some classic puzzle platforming, and I'm not sure there's anything better you could do while stuck with a little time to kill. Enjoy!

I know I've written this elsewhere, so apologies if I'm sounding redundant, but it's worth noting that I'm playing on a PC with some pretty heavy-duty visual upgrades to the game (1080p, AA, DoF enhancement). The visuals, which I'll admit are a major part of the game's charm, may not look nearly as good on a Wii or
