It sounds like you and I are in the same boat. I had fairly low expectations going in - pretty much just a procedurally generated universe with planets to explore - so that low bar was met. I get why others might be disappointed, but that's why it's important to wait for reviews to let you know what a game is and what

You're quite welcome here - on Friday's that's basically all we do, haha.

I saw that, and it sounds pretty promising. I'm just hoping he and his crew don't get too burnt out.

Agreed, 100%. I'm really optimistic about some of the improvements that could be made once the game runs well. As a person who hasn't bought a non-Nintendo game at release in some time, I'd forgotten how buggy and/or broken some software can be!

It's like those silly reminders to take breaks built into a lot of Nintendo games from the 2000s, except it's actually enforced :)

As a Baltimorean, 2015 was a pretty awful year for news, so 2016 had to work very hard to outdo it. Somehow… it succeeded.

Can you please share the Witcher 3 chicken video. I feel like I need that one archives locally, haha.

I would support 9:00 EST - 11:00 EST. Maybe even 10:00 EST - 12:00 EST, though that's getting a little late for my old man brain.

It's kind of shocking to me that the pop-in is less intrusive on Xenoblade Chronicles X, which runs on the generally underpowered Wii U hardware.

Admittedly, I did get sucked in one evening and played for… 3+ hours? It was awesome, as this game gives me the "one more task" thing that people tend to experience with turns in Civilization games. That said, I've only been able to get through a two hour session without crashes once or twice, so the game is basically

I'm really intrigued to see what the Hello Games team does with No Man's Sky. Are they intending to dramatically broaden its mechanics? Will they have the will to do so after their intense efforts to patch up the technical problems? I hope the anger from fans hasn't caused any undue stress on the development team -

Have you turned on the news in the past two years? ;-)

Oh, are the prices different in space than they are on planets? I just found a trading droid in a little airport (?) on a planet, and the prices it was offering did seem low…

I'd like to join the Splatoon session, but won't be home from work until 6:00 PM EST. Would something more similar to the time we used for the Mario Kart 8 on the 8th things work? That was 9:00 - 11:00 EST, which is a little on the later side, so maybe split the diff and say 7:00 - 9:00 EST?

This weekend, I'll be playing No Man's Sky. I put up my first impressions over in Reasonable Discussions on Wednesday, and they've remained largely the same. I love this game, as it feels like it was made for me. I've been dumping about 2 hours in each evening, and it's interesting enough that my wife is happy to let

I read this in Nicholas Cage's voice.

Indeed. A brief tour of the last 250 years would confirm that the country's always had its… fringe elements, and those fringe elements have come perilously close to establishing control (sometimes, they've even succeeded!). Our era is hardly exceptional in this regard.

I thought the tax thing last week was a pretty slick move, though. I'm not a huge Clinton fan, but I'll be darned if she isn't one of our savviest political leaders.

Is this movie any good?

That's what I get for never playing Ducktales.
