Oh man, I still use an old Sony clock radio from the 90s (flat rectangular in gray/black w/9v battery backup) to wake me up too! It has dual alarms to ease me out of sleep, and then I set my smartphone to go off a minute after that for redundancy/safety. That Sony is a workhorse going on probably 25 years now...

So when will the Discovery actually establish it’s core crew? With the exception of Burnham, Saru, Stamets I suppose and after this arc is over, I’m guessing Lorca won’t be around, there still noone to get invested in.

I’m curious how so many people managed to figure out before tonight that Lorca is actually Mirror Lorca. As soon as I heard it suggested I thought “Yeah, they’re totally going to do that.”, but if there were actual clues in the show I missed them.

My complaint about all of this is it seems like the first season was largely built around two “holy shit” twists (I.e., Tyler is Voq, and Lorca is really Mirror Lorca) that one could see coming 5 episodes ago. I think they could have done better in not telegraphing all of this.

I think that’s true. Most people naturally communicate nonverbally—including couples—and that’s just fine. I just think it’s not okay to say that one partner can keep asking, or pushing, nonverbally, but doesn’t have to take the other partner’s nonverbal no. And in interpreting this story, most people seem to be

If I replaced those BMW roundels with Mercedes 3-pointed stars, and put a GLA badge on the back, I wonder what percentage of people would be fooled?

Is there a safety issue with rear facing seats? (I k ow babies are supposed to be rear facing, but they have special seats) I haven’t seen a car with a rear facing seat since my friend’s mom’s Taurus station wagon in the 90s

My sister’s friend dated Aziz Ansari briefly. He is exactly in real life as he is on screen.

Add John Stewart to that list too. And Keanu Reeves. I got some weird soft spot for him. Like he needs a hug.

Reason number 678,987,456,892,369,923 why I can’t wait for the death of car dealerships.

Nah, I’m the only one who abides by the 25mph speed limit in the ‘hood.

I actually agree with you. By now, Hyundai have proven that they can make good, safe, reliable cars for sensible, budget-minded people. Now it’s time for them to make something genuinely exciting to get the world’s attention. I think a lot of people still think of an Elantra as a car you only buy if you can’t afford a

6 trips to the dealership for using coolant. 1600 miles on the car total and the coolant has been topped up by a Ford dealership 3 times.

Two different dealerships have refused to log it in for service without charging me an “Evaluation fee” which is non-refundable even if they determine something is wrong.

Thanks Ford,

I’ll stick my head out here...

That’s disappointing for people who like handling...

When my dad settled on his favorite public golf course, he quickly learned to put money into a local biopharma whenever he saw the CEO on the links, particularly during the week (Friday afternoons), as the guy would only have the time and be in the mood to play when things were going well, and only take off from work

Seriously. Though my personal opinion is that having all them buttons made the Benz interior look outdated nearly 10 years ago.

An interior should be appropriate to the car. Putting a slightly aspirational, yet clearly cost-cutting interior in a Kia is good.

High-octane fuel does not magically have more energy in it, it can just be compressed more before self-igniting. If an engine is designed for regular, then it doesn’t have enough compression to take advantage of that.
