Well, a lot of investigations would probably involve eye witness reports corroborated by evidence from security/other cameras - an eyewitness might see a crime that security cameras don’t, so to find the suspect, the police would have to try to track them down, which they might try to do by looking at security camera

Is there any reason that the system categorizes anything as binary, when they’re inherently probabilistic systems? (That is: This person is a 99% match for who you’re looking for, or a 78% match, or whatever else.)

The EcoSport (neither particularly ecologically friendly, nor sporty, nor is it large enough to echo inside...) is Exhibit A in why I think Ford’s decision to quit selling cars was made like, the week before an earnings call so that execs would look like they “had a plan” to get out of the doldrums they’ve been in.

The best summary of late 90s/early aughts sports culture is the opening seconds of Basketball, where they go over team moves: “The Minnesota Lakers moved to LA, where they don’t have any water, and the New Orleans Jazz moved to Utah, where they don’t allow music.”

The real issue here is that the nature of the foul isn’t disclosed by the officials after the VAR. By most accounts, the issue is that the ball seems to have come off of Gauvin’s arm, which isn’t allowed regardless of intent as of this year.

That’s not true as of this year: No goal is allowed if it comes off the hands or arm of the scoring player, regardless of whether there’s an intentional motion or if the player was in a natural position.

Plus, what does it matter? England got the win, they get to move on to play Norway, and from there, either France, Spain or the US, where they’re not likely to encounter such behavior again. They might not play Cameroon again for many, many years, so criticizing Cameroon isn’t helpful.

How’s asking someone about a issue in their sport that’s garnered national attention a “trap?”

They also don’t depend on their MNT paychecks for any meaningful part of their compensation, whereas the women do.  The metaphor would be more like asking a NFL player if they think that college players should get paid than asking a Mets player about their own front office.

Sure, but what if it was an organization you volunteer for instead of your day job? The paychecks the guys get from the MNT is a rounding error in their annual compensation (and even then, the visibility/sponsorship they get from serving on the MNT is probably worth far more than the game checks.)

The real kicker is that the men really don’t have a lot to lose by speaking out here, since the money they make for the MNT is a tiny fraction of what they’ll make in a year, and the increased visibility (and resulting sponsorship money) of being on the MNT means it’s likely a good financial decision even if they were

Probably looks and feels like a much cheaper tablet than an iPad, and I shudder to think of what Ford is going to charge to go form the 8" to the 10.1" screen size. (Probably a couple grand, and throw in a couple extra speakers and maybe some extra USB ports as part of some package.)

Mitsubishi actually does a pretty decent MB impersonation from the side.  Then you see the car turn and the illusion is totally, utterly ruined.

Yes, they fixed the vents, but do they really need that many of them? Something feels a little off having a row of 4 vents together.

I forget where I saw the statistic, but the actual average in the US is somewhat less than 10%. It’s probably skewed down by people with VA loans, but with an FHA loan you can put as little as 3.5% down. If say if you think 10% is attainable, though, that’s a good figure to aim for, since that’s a conventional

That's 20% for $200k, which is roughly the median value of houses in the US.

Calling it “profit” is somewhat of a misnomer, since there weren’t “slices” for contingency funds, customer refunds, marketing (even sponsoring the local softball team) but even then, it sounds like this is the only job for the husband and wife, so that $5.34 has to pay the “salary” of 2 people.

Am I the only one whose idea of a “potato salad” includes a lot of mustard, with some mayo (plan yogurts work, too) to add creaminess and balance it out?  (When I’m cheating, I also throw in some pickle juice, too.)

These are individual athletes - human beings - passionate about soccer. 4 players scored their first World Cup goal. Did you not want them to celebrate achieving a near-lifelong dream?

It’s not just that you have to be able to afford an expensive ticket in to the world of organized soccer, but assuming you can afford to pay your way in, what does that get you?
