Its not easy to make me cry. Flowers for Algernon made me cry.

It deals with themes of secularism and religion, reoccuring cycles of history, and a few other weighty themes. And it was written at a time when people were paranoid about the prospect of nuclear destruction, so it hit a lot of people hard.
Maybe it’s a difference between the US and Canada, but I also enjoyed the books I was assigned in school. 1984, Animal Farm, The Chrysalids, The Handmaid’s Tale, Lord of the Flies, Of Mice and Men, To Kill A Mockingbird, Lives of Girls and Women, etc.
Why are these supposed to be funny?
I’m not hearing a good argument for why we should pay to support them. They quit the royal family, and good for them for doing so when they were being treated like crap. But if they don’t want to be Royals anymore, then they should be private citizens like any other. And the last I checked, private citizens don’t get…
I’m Canadian, and I’ll drag broth of them hard if they expect my countries government to pay their security costs. It’s easy for you to say “Get over it” when there’s no chance of them living on your countries dime.
I never said it the fear of communism returning is grounded in reality. But that fear does exist for a reason, and it doesn't mean that people are stupid for being susceptible to it. Just like having a phobia of dogs when a dog attacked you as a child isn't stupid.
Its almost like there are historical factors at play that might cause some Polish people to be fearful and paranoid about communism.
Because the priests of your zombie man-god never touched an alter boy, right?
Which one?
When was the last time Travolta was a draw?
Indie isn’t a genre, it’s a distribution model. An emo band can be indie. Just like a band playing Springsteen-inspired heartland rock can be indie. A rapper can be indie. A band playing post-punk derived music can be indie. And an indie band, if they sign to a major label, is no longer an indie band.
I'm surprised that a perpetual never-was whose toxic alcoholism blew every shot he ever at stardom actually possesses enough power to ruin other people's carers. Not saying it isn't true. Not saying it isn't shitty that he did. Just surprised is all.
Roxy Roller is such a jam. It would be perfect on a future Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack.
This. I admittedly don't listen to the the radio a lot, but I've never heard him on the radio.
I never would of imagined an addict would be so needy and dependent on others.
Reckless is a great pop album. I'll die on this hill lol.
One of them was from Windsor and another was from Michigan.
I say this as a kid from late 80s/early 90s. Cartoons from that era, looking at them with my adult eyes, were trash. GI Joe, ThunderCats, He-Man, Shera, even Transformers. Pure trash. There are exceptions that do still hold up, like Batman The Animated Series, but those are rare.
I miss the anonymity of bulletin boards and chat rooms. I still feel weirded out when sites use your Facebook profile and real name in comments sections (Disqus, for example.)
