Yep, this is completely awesome. AVC is officially back, baby!

Man the CG in that lead photo looks straight out of 1998

It’s weird that the nepo baby critique is always about people in the arts and not people in business, where the outcome is more substantive (and funnier) when someone just fucking sucks

I’m excited for this one. I was pretty disappointed with In A Violent Nature and I’m hungry for something truly creepy.

Since many of the posters here (me included) are often criticizing the writing on the site, it’s worth saying -- this review is very well written.

I've literally never seen that complaint, so I do wonder where you hang out and with whom...

i really am starting to get the idea that a lot of celebrities conflate ‘being famous’ with ‘being beloved’.

Shit is so funny to me. What does she want to have happen here? What action should be taken and by whom? There’s no Grand High Cancellation Council that is refusing to hear his appeal.

Lena Dunham has talent as a writer, but some sort of negative talent when it comes to clothing. There are people who look bad in their clothing because they clearly don’t care enough to put more thought into what they wear than just grabbing some stuff that vaguely fits and then going with it. But Dunham very clearly

I had not noticed that it was semi-transparent until I went back up to look in response to your comment.  So, I think you owe me an apology.

I’m not very familiar with Polly Pocket or any potential movies about it, but I do have to say that of all the dresses available in the world that is certainly...one of them.  :/

Now playing

As soon as I saw Web Weaver’s webhole, I immediately went to look up the first appearance of his comics counterpart, which was in The Boys: Dear Becky #1 “Saturday”, June 2020. He’s a ripoff of The Venture Bros’ Brown Widow, played by Nathan Fillion. Brown Widow first appeared in season 4, episode 13, originally aired

He seems to be avoiding another big part of why people hated the death, that the previous season had spent numerous episodes faking Glenn’s death before revealing he was still alive, which was then abruptly rendered totally pointless. I’ll go to my grave believing this cliffhanger went down the way it did because they

Dude’s talking as if public forgiveness is a switch that someone somewhere just needs to flick. The public will forgive people if they feel like they deserve to be forgiven. And that’s a piece of piss for a celebrity, just throw a bunch of cash at some PR douchebags and they’ll plant stories and organise benefits and

Surely there are more deserving people. Without getting into it too much, I spent the last year consumed by fear and stress. I went to court and the judge ruled that my landlord was allowed to evict me. I appealed, lost again, but because I made enough money working 70 hour weeks with little food or sleep, losing 85

Honestly, I’m glad he’s out of the MCU. I don’t get what the appeal of the dude is - as an actor. He’s obviously an awful person but I can’t see why he was getting raves for his performances. Fussy, pretentious, indulgent, with zero charisma. But I seem to be in the minority. What am I missing?

He seems very disingenuous to me. Everything from his defense attorney’s pre-trial shenanigans, to breaking up that fight, to dating Meagan Good feels very calculated and manufactured. That’s certainly not unique to him (Tom Cruise has had a very controlled public image for decades), but Majors is too young and too

Blade has been done and would be nearly impossible to top.

I hope The A.V. Club also brings back Page to Screen and One-Season Wonders.
