I’ll recommend the early Modest Mouse albums: This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About, The Lonseome Crowded West, and The Moon & Antarctica. So many of these songs are road trip/traveling songs you start to feel like they’re in the car with you.

Great article and spotlight on Pippa. Brought me back to my childhood seeing Pippa’s great satire in magazines.

Why? What is the dart board of topics in the Jalop offices? Who hurt you?

Why is this site turning into “what do you want to hate on today?” I refuse to believe “that’s the internet” but maybe I’m just fever dreaming of the days of reading quality thought pieces of Car, Road & Track, Car and Driver. Maybe I should go back to print journalism. Can I pay for better content? Or should I just

Exactly. I’m fresh off the “you like Honda? well what don’t you like?” article and then get to this with not a single use of the words cost savings. Instead it’s more of a “they tricked me so why couldn’t they try harder” article. Imagine a world where we didn’t need new things so much. Where we were happy with the

1,000% THIS. We have lax driver’s license tests and renewals as it is. I’ve thought about yearly, open-book tests and special licenses for a long time now. How many people don’t know how to drive their cars? How much they weigh? Understand basic physics? Every car that can accelerate rapidly, weighs 5,000+ lbs, EV’s,

It’s a developer’s conference so it’s showcasing API’s and a lot of the bones of what can be developed either internally or externally on top of the software.

Tesla Model 3 rear seat. 400+ mile trip not a fun place to be for a 200lb, 6ft tall man with wide shoulders and hips. I felt like I was half on a seat for a child.

This. Processors, solid state batteries, charging infrastructure, networking protocols, consumer’s digital lives in a vehicle (music, communication, etc.), data, and components like Chris mentioned are all within Apple’s wheelhouse and/or interest. Especially when you think of patent/technology licensing and acquisitio

The answer is… 2nd gen Miata.

Making sure the coolest way to say Nissan Maxima lives on.

This. The amount of dirt and dust that sits on the lip of the wheel at the seal alone can cause issues. Add water, rust, and an old tire and you’ve got a bad seal. Had a tire lose pressure on a freeway onramp from being pulled just enough off the seal after a long winter of sitting.

Easily a 10-15 year old mid-80's first gen Ford Escort (US/NA). I never had the pleasure(?) of driving it new, or within it’s first decade of life. When I had the experience (much better word) to drive it in the late 90's, it was as if someone placed a large bowl of dry uncooked rice on the floor, inserted a large

Bummed I missed the entries but think Sir Mix-A-Lot “My Hooptie” may not be a top 10 but worth knowing crappy cars get love too.

Thought the previous logos of 100+ years would be helpful. C’mon Jalops.
