I also really loved how, when they addressed Clark previously listening in to Lois, that they didn’t treat it like a rom-com trope. She was legitimately (and understandably) POed. A lesser show would have romanticized his behavior.

Jordan and Sara are kind of giving me Clark and Lana from Smallville vibes... which if my guess is correct, Shawn will join the army at the end of the season and then be killed overseas.

Sweet scene between Lana and Clark, bonding over missing Martha

Superman in that motel fight showed some straight up Mortal Kombat moves. (Freeze -> uppercut -> stage transition)

I think it’s pretty cute that Lois’ new boss at the paper (whose name I can’t remember) has her name and an editor sign on her door despite the fact that last week she revealed the whole paper is a one-woman operation. Like getting business cards with CEO printed on them if you run a kiosk at the mall.

The kid playing Johnathan is 100% the MVP of the show so far. His reaction faces — like when Lana and Sarah have it out in the diner — are so damn good.

Well the Kent-Lanes (as Bitsie Tulloch pointed out on twitter today, Lois didn’t take Clark’s last name) did not have their financial burdens eased this week. Her car burned to a crisp, she started a new job that can’t pay well, and he took a job that doesn’t pay at all.

I love that Jordan got his, and then moved to quash the beef.

3 for 3 imo. The writing and production values are superb. So do we think this is the end of the Sara bf issues? I hope so and I hope he gets more fleshed out.

Luke’s feelings mirror my own. I love the story, and the characters. I’m here for this road trip. But man, I wish I could just skip the musou/dungeon portions.

Yes...This! Also kinda got pulled out of the show momentarily when Clark didn’t take BOTH sons to the fortress. Jonathan is still half Kryptonian and should be entitled to know his heritage - powers or not. Really surprised no one called Clark out on that.I honestly felt that Clark was gonna acknowledge this in this

A little occasional coal to diamond crushing? They’ll be fine.

Not to mention that anytime Kara gets even a whiff of the stuff and she’s dying on the floor.

Kyle might be an oblivious (if well meaning) oaf, but he is not stingy with the ribs. He is alright with me

Yeah, the meth thing was weird. In my day, the good people of Smallville simply huffed meteor rock out of inhalers.

I guess we can mind-canon it that the severance was what enabled them to pay off the second mortgage on the farm.

She could always WFH, no? they must have Zoom in this reality.

An awful lot of papers hire staff as “Consultants” so they don’t have to pay them benefits or deal with the unions, fireupabove.

I mean, you’re assuming that Clark has regular human chromosomes. I bet those boys’ DNA is some crazy shit.

Overall, I liked this a lot and think it has potential. The tone sets it apart from Smallville and the production values seem much higher than other current CW DC shows. The budget differences seem palpable.
