It was originally called ‘Johnson’s Beef Fluid’, so I guess it was kind of liquidy to begin with but was later reworked as a paste. You can get granules and stock cube variants.

That tahini listing for the UK seems a bit dubious, even if Nigella and Cheryl are using it. Some folk will tell you sriracha is having a moment, but The Grocer has some research pointing to Heinz and Hellman’s duking it out in Mayonaise wars. They reckon we spent nearly £37 million on mayo over £28 million on tomato…

Yesterday I read something that labeled the photo as Italian Gelato. Having said that, the correct caption reads “3rd June 1939: Girls on the beach at Blackpool, Lancashire, enjoying their ice-creams.”
