Slight PS on the hot doughnuts. Not sure it would be allowed these days, but at my secondary school years the girls used the Home Ec kitchen to cook up doughnuts that would be sold during the morning break.
Lately I have been buying iced buns from the Co-op - a bit of bread with icing on the top and a little bit of jam injected in the middle. They come in packs of four though the nostalgia is for buying them individually from the bakery window.
Welling is trending at the mo, because their McDonald’s reopens next week. I thought for a minute they might be in the cinema where I first saw Star Wars, but they are up the road slightly.
A little while back, I was given a tin of sardines, something I detested as a child and haven’t touched since. Mostly the tin fed the cat but I rather liked them as well. That prompted me to buy a tin from Asda which promptly bought back the childhood revulsion. The cat agreed on that point as well.
Funnily enough, I dumped all the Alphabites and Potato Waffles that were clogging up my freezer.

There seem to be a few easy recopies for Vietnamese Egg Coffee on the net. I like the look of this one.
I used to do well with onions, radishes, mint, gooseberries, blackberries, raspberries and loganberries. In my current garden only blackberries so far, though it’s an ambition to get a herb patch going. The apple tree has blossom but I doubt it will turn to edible fruit.
The fear was that anything that didn’t sell during the day would end up in the evening fry up - not so fresh. Having said that, I have fond memories of a combo chippie/fishmonger.
