Last night I watched both versions of The Thing (1982) and (2011).
Afterwards, I went down the wiki rabbit hole of that “franchise.”

Yeah, this is actually a good solution. This is why Japanese gacha mobile games in general always disclose droprates, since there’s a specific law that deals with them.
Well, I mean, people are pushing the ESRB which have some pull on the publishers themselves.
I worked for a slot machine company for about ten years and loot boxes seem to fit what Nevada and New Jersey consider a gambling device. I think it qualifies as a class 2 gambling system.
Yep but gambling is heavily defined and regulated by the government because they can tax your winnings. They cannot tax you based on the value of your Overwatch skin collection and therefore dgaf.
Their comment about ccg’s makes me think it’s not about being able to win money, but being able to lose.
Here is the official ESRB description for the Real Gambling tag: “Player can gamble, including betting or wagering real cash or currency”
I mean, it’s not gambling. If people really think this is a big deal write your representatives and senators to try to put in regulations (such as a mandated disclosure of drop rates).
I may be lacking some reading comprehension here. But aren’t loot boxes mostly available for real money?
Remember those simple salad days when he was just accusing his predecessor of wire tapping him? Or perhaps the Bowling Green Massacre? Those events seem like eons ago. There is no bottom, we are just going to keep plunging into the abyss.
He’s history’s greatest monster!
Odds they play Rains of Castamere? I can’t figure if it’s a lock or zero chance but it’s one of those things.
Since I value losing myself in a game and trying to stay immersed in the world, I feel like all these currencies and “daily challenges” and loot boxes and legal gambling for digital goods would just keep pulling me out of feeling like a badass wraith overlord. Like...does Talion just toss gold into a black bubbling…
“Crucially, I’ve never once felt like any part of this would be easier by buying orcs or better gear.”
Remember when Form meant actual change in appearance?
Frieza, Cell, Buu, all the other tiny minions.
Some say SJW, I say “not a complete and total piece of human garbage.” :)
I’ll absolutely play South Park....eventually, but I’m in no rush, so nothing for me until Wolfenstein...
People completely unprepared for fame and money basically. They become all about “interacting with the community” and they end up going on power trips and thinking they can do what they want. Same thing happens in Hollywood I guess, but they have agents to help smooth things over and cover stuff up.
*weary sigh*...
That’s really all I can say about this. What is it with Youtube/Internet celebrities and turning out to be assholes?
It’s been a while since I’d watched this series, but I used to quite like them. Oh well.
