Yeah, I read that part. I get that, but it feels like other developers haven’t really lost their charm where Bungie has. Hell, id software is older than Bungie and they’re still very much id despite the departure of John Carmack and John Romero.

Yeah, but Halo was great when Bungie was making it. Plus they had older games like Mythic and Marathon. I dunno, maybe I’m just super nostalgic and letting those rose tinted glasses cloud my vision. I just know that I really don’t like what Bungie is today.
Seriously, what the hell happened to the Bungie of 2007? I used to visit Bungie.net all the time and I loved the community and developer. Nowadays I couldn’t care less about either. Bungie used to be one of the greats. Now, it seems like they’re floundering. They’re just those people that made Destiny. A co-op MMO…
These are all cool but I can kinda see why some of them were cut.
Man this Battlefront II debacle just keeps getting better and better.
Oh yeah, I modded the crap out of vanilla Skyrim to make it more vibrant and better lit. The finer details like textures and whatnot were secondary to just getting the lighting to look good. The remaster does a pretty good job but relies a little too much on that hazy yellow tint from all the volumetric lighting.
Oh god yes. In this day and age their animations and slavish devotion to that archaic engine is unacceptable. There has to be an engine they can licence that would work better.
Oh don’t get me wrong about Oblivion, I love it to this day. There is a real charm to the game that most other RPG’s lack. But it’s certainly the most generic fantasy of the bunch. Like they were afraid if they went more along the lines of Morrowind it’d turn new people off. You are right about the cities though.…
Yeah, it also doesn’t help that Skyrim really suffers from the Bethesda problem of being as wide as an ocean but as deep as a puddle. I always revisit Skyrim thinking I’ll really dig into it but ultimately just get bored after an hour or less. That’s not a problem I really cared about before but nowadays it’s very…
I totally get where you’re coming from there. Though the drab and rough look is kind of the point, I much prefer the strange, colorful and otherworldly look of Morrowind. The Elder Scrolls is always at it’s best when it embraces the more outlandish elements of it’s setting. That is why Oblivion is not terribly well…
I 100% get you there. That part is horribly designed. Narratively it’s great but from a gameplay perspective it’s just frustrating. I had to hard save constantly just to get through it.

I’m praying for the sake of the future of genre movies that studios come to realize that.
Seriously though, that is a steal. Wolfenstein is a fantastic game. And playing it pisses off Nazis, so that makes it twice as fun!

I gotta give EA credit on this. Few companies can fuck things up this badly. I’m seriously impressed.
A lot of the appeal of GoT is how brutal and uncompromising it is. The world is fucked up. It shows all of that in the sex and violence. Watering that down to a PG-13 level kind of diminishes that. I’m not saying you need sex and violence to articulate brutality and realism, I’m just saying that the sex and violence…
You’re right. It’s less the severity of their loot box bullshit and more that EA is generally hated and they tried this crap with a Star Wars game. Star Wars is typically marketed to kids despite what adult fanboys would tell you. This whole thing seems like a perfect storm that will hopefully lead to actual…
You know, it’s quite fitting that EA would be the one to over-extend and get actual politicians to look into this loot box bullshit. Congrats to them for being so horrible that people finally noticed.
Dude can we talk about just how much of a kick ass year Nintendo has had? BoTW, Mario Odyssey and Metroid Samus Returns are just the ones I’ve played and there are more games to come.
Given their track record I’m willing to believe them. CDPR are one of the good ones. If we get another Witcher 3 style game I’m all in.
