You been living under a rock? Everybody is trying to get in on that action. The Division is a recent example for there are plenty. Everything is going open world multiplayer. Single player is becoming less and less common in the AAA market.

Anybody who has ever tried to play games like that knows that playing solo isn’t very fun and turns into even more of a grindfest.

Right? The concept and visuals are cool, but it’s just not the kind of game I’m gonna like. Lots of others will, but I will definitely not enjoy it. That sucks when it’s my favorite developer and consistent go to for strong single player games...for the most part.

No kidding, like I said in another comment, it feels like Bioware is selling out. I really, REALLY hate not being excited to play a Bioware game.

Yeah, and I’m stoked for Dragon Age 4, whenever that happens. I’m just kinda let down. This feels like Bioware selling out and doing the multiplayer loot based co-op nonsense. I’m so over that kind of game. It was never for me. I’m a single player guy and Bioware was always my go to. Now it looks like they’re joining

I actually always wanted to play it but never could. Now I’m really excited about this.

Same, for the first time in my life I’m not even remotely interested in getting a Bioware game. I don’t like how that feels.

Not worth it for the price. I’ll stick with my PC. I know that sounds elitist and I hate those kinds of people, but seriously, there is no reason for me to want this console. Everything on it will also be on PC in some way.

I was really hoping it wouldn’t be another Destiny/Warframe wannabe. Screw multiplayer co-op stuff. I want single player RPG’s. I want some Bioware in my Bioware games!

We’ll see but that seems unlikely.

I’m eager to see what the Scorpio has to offer. Not sure I’d get it, though. I already own an Xbox one and do most of my gaming on PC. It will be interesting to see if Microsoft can offer up a good reason to buy their new console.

This article actually details a the troubled development of the game. In it it describes how the Frostbite engine was very difficult to work with because it is designed for First Person shooters and not much else. It didn’t come with any tools for animation so they had to do all that themselves and the entire thing

Today in: THIS PERSON WOULD BE CONSIDERED A THREAT IF THEY WERE BROWN!

I don’t hate sports but I sure wouldn’t go out of my way to watch a game or play Madden, that’s for sure. I think most gamers would agree. Unfortunately EA isn’t really interested in our opinions. This presentation was for their share holders.

Thank you for going through and finding those quotes. I’d forgotten about the fact that Frostbite didn’t come with any animation tools out of the box.

Um, did you read the article posted on this site a few days ago? Have you ever researched anything related to Frostbite? Because if you had you’d know that outside of shooters it’s a very difficult engine to work with. One that required Bioware to put resources into it that could have been put into the animation. See

I would agree. They have the most exciting exclusives too. I’m very eager to see more of the Last of Us part 2, the new God of War, Insomniac’s Spiderman and whatever DLC for Horizon Zero Dawn Guerrilla is cooking up.

Truly, it makes me wish EA would allow them to either choose an engine or make one of their own that would better suit them. they’ve used it twice and both times it was clear the engine wasn’t suited to Bioware. It is a bloody miracle that Dragon Age Inquisition was good and an unfortunate inevitability that Mass

It was, however, one of the major hurdles the team had to overcome that led to them not being able to make the animations solid. One can be connected to the other without being directly linked.

That sure looks...like something. I dunno, I was hoping for something more. I guess we’ll have to wait. Kinda wish Bioware could ditch Frostbite after what I’ve read about ME:A. I dunno, the Edmonton team did okay with it on DA:I so there is hope yet. I’ll always be in Bioware’s corner despite their mistakes.
