I agree it was the duty of every teacher with personal knowledge that this had occurred to report it to the administration. However, laughter is sometimes involuntarily--I have been in more than a few situations in which I tried very hard to suppress my own laughter, but did not always succeed at doing so.

I wouldn’t trust or hire a single teacher that works at that school. (I feel sorry for any new teachers who’ve landed here who are now associated with the place.) There is no way this happened in a vacuum. This is clearly indicative of the culture of teaching at this location.

Nope. Dress codes were much stricter in the 60s and 70s. When I was in grammar school at a public school in the 60s, girls were not allowed to wear pants. And this was in Chicago. That’s not true at all. People freaked the fuck out when skirts went above the knee and women started ditching bras. And they still do because while fashion may change, being a spiteful old scold bitching about the youths is eternal.

Yeah, and chefs are often very particular and tempermental. Also, they usually work hours which might not align with a lot of people.

I dunno, I’ve known a couple chefs, and they basically never cooked when they weren’t at work. Like, maybe a grilled cheese. They also tend to regularly use interesting illegal drugs, which I am fine with, but wouldn’t marry.
