Yep. At least at launch, they each cost around $700 to make. I wouldn’t be surprised if, due to component improvements and economies of scale, they’re actually selling at a unit profit now, but yeah, consoles are fucking expensive. Remember when the PS3 launched at literally $600 (for the premium model) and still

I think it was a great choice for the comedic tone of She-Hulk. I wouldn’t be mad if we never see it again.

It was fucking phenomenal. I remember seeing the printed one sheets at the video store where I worked and thinking it was going to be terrible because I thought that the Prequels were terrible. After 5 minutes, I was in and and LOVING it.

I haven’t seen She-Hulk, but Daredevil’s original costume from the comics was yellow, so most likely it was a reference to the character’s history.

(how was the Seinfeld set “only” $80?)

The moment at the ruined Jedi temple where Anakin and Ventris are facing off, and it begins to rain, the drops of water hissing off the lightsaber blades, is the kind of quiet, tense moment that Lucas apparently found himself incapable of creating. So simple but so effective.

It was so much better that Lucas went to extraordinary lengths to bury it, so people couldn’t watch it and compare it to his trash.

It’s already interesting that Discovery would take what was, well, a discovery of knowledge, and turn it into a more tangible, galaxy-threatening object.

The Joker: Folie a Deux has been rated “R” for “some strong violence, language throughout, some sexuality, and brief full nudity.”

I’m not an endocrinologist, but it seems like the only thing different about this is the scale of the rollout and the fact that it’s being done by the NHS across the country, to basically everybody with T1DM, rather than the piecemeal way we do it in the United States, depending on your insurance, ability to pay, etc:

Agreed. I was 20 years old when TMNT (1990) came out and thought it stayed true to the comic book while incorporating the silliness of the cartoon. My only complaint was Corey Feldman as the voice of Donatello, it was distracting hearing a well known celebrity.

Let’s be honest, the time dilation was just an excuse to bring back Keiko and explain why Kurt Russell wasn’t quite as old as he should’ve been.

I’d suggest that said “heel turn” in GvK was really only from a certain point of view. He was always after the right villain, in this case the corpo-scum of Apex Cybernetics, and it just took a bit of time for everyone else to figure out where to stand.

You lost me with JL as a good movie but you redeemed yourself with the accurate motion comic comparison of 300.

Oh my god, Betterer than Barbie 2 is ALMOST HERE!!!

That’d be a bummer. Overwatch seems like a cool world with cool characters that I’d love to engage with, but multiplayer-only is a non-starter for me. I don’t want to play games online, so I was really looking forward to that option.

Think about how much more it would be to buy a PC that has the same game performance. Even discounting a couple hundred bucks because the game console has limited functionality, there’s still a pretty massive gap that they’re covering to keep the price lower.

Most consoles when first created are sold at a loss, with the expectation that they make that up with software sales.

PS5 and XSX are very powerful PCs. Graphics card similar to what they use would be in the $200-400 range.

We will likely never know the real numbers: the esitmated Bill of Materials for the parts for Series X and PS5 are close to, or is at, the RRP of the console.
