glad they did the right thing, but I'm more glad that I have these games on Sony where they are playable on my Vita as well.

To say nothing of Penny Arcade's ongoing nastiness and self-indulgence. Man, I really dislike Penny Arcade.
I see a few trends, all of which are good for us the gamers:
- small ante price is better than $50. Sure, microtransactions suck, but it's easy enough to spot a crappy money grab.
- character games don't have to come out with a film. EA seems to understand this better than many, and have stated that their Star Wars…
That's what LucasArts was doing towards the end! Age of Empires engine with a Star Wars skin, Quake II with a Star Wars skin, Battlefield with a Star Wars skin ... it worked for a while.
Not sure how I feel about this. Gauntlet was the original pay-to-win game, kind of an ancestor to the lousy freemium trend we see today. I liked it, but mainly when I could play at home for "free," which took a lot of the tension away.
I'd just as soon have Origin and streaming to Nvidia Shield handheld over mandatory Xbox Live on a console I don't have.
