What planet are these women from? I am Canadian and every woman I know who grew up here knows the rules of Hockey, and the vast majority love it. This is just silly.

I had a pulmonary embolism after having my first kid. That stupid blood clot caused me such trouble since then, like a high risk second pregnancy and now I can't have HRT after having my ovaries removed.

The look on Uncle Phil's face at the end made me cry a bit. I loved that show.

this thread is pretty funny. I know Burnview cres in Toronto. Sounds like you may be from my neck of the woods.

The human body is weird. When it comes to hormone replacement, the opposite seems to be true. Long story short, 6 weeks ago I had my ovaries and Fallopian tubes removed. I have a history of pulmonary embolisms so hormone replacement therapy is risky. My hematologist told me that evidence shows a higher incidence

BRCA1 carries a 50-80% lifetime risk of breast cancer and a 20-40% risk of ovarian cancer. Since ovarian cancer is so darn hard to detect and has a low survival rate (since it is usually found after it has already spread) many BRAC1 mutation carriers choose to have their ovaries and fallopian tubes removed.

my boob specialist doctor told me that Breast MRIs are the way to go for detecting cancer in dense breast tissue. It has a high false positive rate though, anomalies are investigated through ultrasounds. I am not an expert, but have a very high risk of breast cancer, so have many doctors talking to me about it.

I had abdominal surgery 2 weeks ago and I have been scared to go out in public because I am terrified that someone will accidentally touch or elbow my swollen, sore, bleeding belly incision.

heehee. This is funny, and probably true. Maybe it's why I have never dated an Indian person either.

Actually they can, and do sometimes leave the nipple and skin. Nipple sparring mastectomies are done for women who have risk of cancer, but no cancer yet. I am planning to have one later this year.

I'm Canadian. Government Heath care will cover it all, since I have a BRCA1 genetic mutation.

they do sometimes offer nipple sparring mastectomies, where the breast tissue is removed but the nipple and skin are left (all filled in nice with an implant). I am planning to have a nipple sparring mastectomy with immediate reconstruction later this year. I dont have breast cancer though; this is a preemptive

H&M

OMG I have that top. bunnies...

She is awesome. It brought tears to my eyes, as it's the exact same course of treatment that my mother has just finished (chemo, then mastectomy, ovaries removed, then radiation). It's such a hard road. I am having a mastectomy later this year (BRCA1 mutation) and I am terrified, but seeing brave women like this

Actually, I am having a double mastectomy with immediate breast reconstruction later this year, and even with the reconstruction, they told me it's day surgery. Pretty amazing.

It's unfortunate that stories like these paint male elementary teachers in a bad light. I had male teachers for grade 3, 4 and 5 and they were awesome men, and great teachers. The men in these stories are despicable creatures, but I hope it won't make people distrust all male teachers. Children need good male role

I had my first mammogram on Wednesday. I just got the call to come back for more pictures, for whatever reason.

Hurray!!

I work in a high school with high risk teenagers, and a couple of my students have been wearing the I heart boobies bracelet. I kept my mouth shut. My students have way bigger problems to deal with.
