As somebody who never got into "Downton Abbey," it's weird seeing Dan Stevens just about everywhere nowadays.

The length wore on me. I think that reading the wrong length on the back of the DVD case led me to be a little harsher on the film than I might have been otherwise.

I recall reading about the time somebody asked Britney Spears why she covered "I Love Rock 'n' Roll," and she responded that she just loved Pat Benatar.

I've still got a couple episodes on DVD sets I've bought that I've yet to watch. I have a compulsion that I want to watch episodes that are new to me in chronological order, so next for me is "12 to the Moon," and then I think "Angel's Revenge."

My dad observed that those guys had the cushiest jobs in show business, since they basically just had to stand there until the last episode.

I've only seen the first episode of "Review." I meant to get around to it eventually, but t disappeared from Hulu before I could, and it doesn't appear to have any DVD releases. Is it streaming anywhere legal?

Does it count as "season one" of a series when it's a limited series with limited chances of a followup?

Also been watching some episodes off Netflix. Still sticking with old favorites from the Sci-Fi era, though I also plan to get to "Laserblast" and "Zombie Nightmare" (the latter of which I've only seen once years ago). I've been downloading them to my phone and watching them when I have a spare minute, so you can

I recall watching "In and Out" a few years back, and I felt that the stereotypes were a bit much. I don't know that I'm part of the Tumblr Police (I barely use the site anymore, and mostly use it for MST3k stuff), so I can only imagine how touchy they'd be.

My mom managed to figure out that it was referring to a spear, but not even me making a shaking motion could clue her into who it was.

7. Absolutely NOT the guy from "Dazed and Confused." Can't make that any clearer.

Thankfully, nobody in either of my Film History classes were chatty during the movies. They may not have been too chatty after the movies, either, probably because the classes were in the morning.

I like "Diabolik," which ended the 1.5th run of "Mystery Science Theater 3000," and probably "Hogcock!/Last Lunch," the end of "30 Rock."

The Queen's English, then famous British names? Unusually UK-oriented tonight.

Today in "what the IMDb thinks they're best known for":
Jesse Plemons: Black Mass
Hans Christian Andersen: Writer, Frozen
Serge Gainsbourg: Soundtrack, The Da Vinci Code
Marvin Gaye: Soundtrack, Se7en
Rodney King: Self, Rodney King Beating Video

This last week in Sillstaw’s entertainment:

The difference, of course, is that you're not paying for both companies while people act like you have the choice.

J6:
Before winning an Oscar for "The Queen," she was Jane Tennison on "Prime Suspect"
A: Who is Helen Mirren?

I've been playing a bit of "Spelunky" to pass time while waiting for the AV Club to post stuff at midnight Chicago time. Not much to write about there.
