I’d say the introduction of her character could have waited until she was actually important to the plot in that case.

It probably would probably never be approved by studios, and get thrown away in rewrites, but I really think it would be cool to see a superhero movie that swerves away from the huge third act battle. Still have action throughout, obviously, but have the hero find some other way to handle the problem than beating it…
