Hrm. Is this game really that good decades or so later? It seems kind of dated, but I’ve heard so much positive feedback about it.

From someone who loved the competitive aspects of SC1, I feel like they kind of botched SC2. SC1 was one of those games where everything—even its flaws—managed to come together and make the game greater than the sum of its individual parts.

If I get called out on missing stuff, that's fine. But there's a relatively fine (or very obviously broad line) between constructive criticism, and heavy-handed, elitist, verbally abusive contempt. Which is the way that "calling out" usually happens.
