I had never thought of it that way, but it's true. But don't forget, it was only necessary due to the manipulations of that Plutocrat Mister Potter, a representation of the 1% if I ever saw one.

BUT DID HE WASH HIS HANDS OR NOT AFTER TAKING A SHIT?!? DAMN YOU CHASE!!!

After they leave the diner, the Soprano family all go to church, where they gather with all the dead characters, before moving on to the afterlife. So there is a cut to black then a fade to white. Also, we never find out the origin of New Jersey (trust me, that's a good thing).

I've definitely seen the premise before and after (DS9 and Smallville come to mind), but I just think it's a cheap shot at the audience. That it masquerades as some kind of a mindfuck that I should take seriously is what makes me dislike it.

Mine too.  And it has my favorite scene in the entirety of the DCAU, where Bruce is begging to his parents' graves to be released from his vow.  That's probably the single most powerful moment I've seen in any animated movie, Disney or Miyazaki included.

I haven't seen FNL yet, but I kind of love her because she was Jessica on Supernatural. Her character basically kicks off the whole journey.

You know, I'm ok with the Tim Drake thing, because I felt like it was a great story, and because it kind of makes sense that's actually what would happen to a 12 year old who takes on psychopaths. I love Tim in the comics, and I might feel differently if this were the character I love. But I agree with the review that

Yeah the show has a formula, but I feel like the ratio of awesome to lame is in awesome's favor. I think it depends on personal preference. I like the idea of seeing characters grow old, fuck up and/or die, I think it makes the mythology better. It feels like progress. Alan Moore said something to that effect in the

They really need to review Batman Beyond. Some of it is terrible, but the majority of it is awesome. It's so dark, and such good quality, its the DS9 of the DCAU.

And in a musical homage Sousa might appreciate, "This Night" has lyrics by Joel based on music by Beethoven.

The idea of Morpheus appearing differently to humans and Martian Manhunter (because we are all trying to perceive the idea of Dream in a recognizable form) reminds me of the idea of Morpheus being a facet of the idea of Dream, which becomes relevant much later. Once I watched Doctor Who, I saw where Gaiman had gotten
