Yeah I love the TNG Q eps, but I think it's obvious he doesn't belong on DS9, sort of like if Xander had appeared on Angel. I do appreciate the similarity to the Doctor/companion idea watching it now, since I didn't start watching Doctor Who til a few years ago.

Although Handlen's my favorite reviewer. Maybe it's the oversharing. Hope he didn't get canned, or eaten by a rugguru.

I like this guy. He can stay.

Yes and he is played by Danny Strong.

This is very cool.  Welcome to the boards, dude.  We're here because we (still) love your show.  Surely we will all warm up once we get the ball rolling.  Lord knows if Jonathan Frakes actually dropped in to AV Club he'd be shocked what we have done in his name.  Or, y'know, aroused.  Whichever.

Thanks for mentioning this, Rowan.  I think the movie-villain cliches after both reveals are the only part of the show I wish was different.  But I decided (after I posted above) that maybe a good fictional story needs a little artifice to wrap up nicely.

Agreed.  Although I do think the whole see-saw/rocking the boat thing when the guy had Veronica picked up was very silly.  It kind of undercuts the the actual tension in the rest of the scene.

I think you can buy Beaver as a rapist if you can buy him as a Bond supervillain at the last moment.  Both of those acts speak to a one-dimensional version of the character.  I think the reason why viewers get whiplash from that reveal is that he's so otherwise well-rounded (like so many VM background characters) that

Isn't the Trill who tried to steal the Dax symbiont played by John Glover? I'd pay good money though to see a bad guy faceoff between Dukat and Lionel Luthor.

There's nothin a bottle o' whiskey won't cure.

No, they just said he never returned home.  I like to think he stopped Leaping and settled down somewhere else, spending the rest of his life schtupping Marilyn Monroe, plucked from her timeline in the moments before her death.

maybe she put that on her resume.  or, y'know, her headshot.

I loved the mystery trailer bit, I think it was my favorite part of the mythology.  I haven't seen the show in a few years, but I thought it was Scudder's trailer.  it seemed like a cool way to give Ben a peek into his predecessor's life.  And the fetus I took to be Scudder using something living/not living to look in

he was my favorite Lex Luthor

here's a dollar.

same here.  nothing else to add, just padding.

yeah i watched the show on dvd, and i was warned about the unsatisfying ending, but i think it worked pretty well.

Wait, having another little person fantasy adventure movie in theaters is a bad thing?  Somebody should have told the people who made Volcano/Dante's Peak, Armageddon/Deep Impact, those three Snow White movies in development (ok…paper, rock, scissors…GO!) and any other example of follow up movies trying to capitalize

I'm watching x files for the first time. it's my wife's favorite show and I'm showing her deep space 9 so it's a win/win. Here's what blew my mind about this episode: Scully, Mulder and random FBI agent pursue this guy through the rally, and I'm doing the math here that unknown FBI guy is going to get shot like a

I went to high school with Warren.  The Glee kids aren't the only ones with an "overblown sense of proportion".  Maybe I'll make a self-inflating documentary about something I did 17 years ago that made me feel special?
