So the 370Z is ahead of its time, by being behind the time...?

I dont doubt some CUVs are way faster. Some might even corner faster. But NONE will be as fun to drive or make me WANT to drive as much as my Alfa and Altezza. To me driving is about so much more than stupid stats or e-peen, and it should be for any Jalop. For the joy of driving, and I am sorry CUVs are the anti

My wagon is cool.  So is the murdered out, all black chrysler minivan one of my neighbors has.

They’ll need well over 200 kWh to meet their top range claim....

It’s bold and shocking and reimagines trucks the same way that shamelessly shitting your pants in public is bold and shocking and reimagines going to the bathroom.

You kind of nailed why this might (kinda, sort of) actually happen as we see it. Assuming the three problems you’ve identified are some/most of the major hurdles that Tesla faces in bringing a car to market what they’ve showed could be something resembling reality.

Have you seen the model X? My brother in law has one. It looks uglier than a Daewoo lanos no matter how you view it.

It is kind of interesting to consider how a bunch of the ridiculousness of this thing is based on trying to solve the production and support issues that have plagued them in the past.

The CyberTruck is proof than Generation X is the worst generation ever

I have to disagree with this part. I think it’s aesthetics over everything else. Yes, there’s some trick engineering choices in there as well, but I think at the core, Musk wanted to ape designs from 35+ years ago and call it “futuristic” and “revolutionary”.

I guess pedestrian safety and crumple zones dont matter to you?

Nice hyperbole. Just like I’m sure you’d also prefer a barren, functional home with only a single chair, television, and lamp instead of unnecessary things like framed photographs, artwork, and throw pillows that people add more and more and more of.

You’re on the wrong website.

They also don’t have seatbelts because there’s mini tractor beams in the seats.

This is the correct reply. The hover capability that doesn’t require significant air movement or obvious power input/output (there’s no indication that the vehicle is running when they stop/park it) indicates a method of manipulating something significant with regard to the mass of the vehicle.

Millennial checking in. I agree. Dismissive smug slogans like “Ok, boomer” are garbage and I do not wish to be associated with the imbeciles getting off on it

And usually you can just shift into whatever gear you want from a stop and it’ll roll out without any issue. No more stalling or bucking or slipping the clutch for hill starts!

The “Ok, Boomer” shit, like a lot of our culture, is stupid.

I don’t work for the prison system, but I am rather familiar with it, having several family members that do.

And those people are likely to get fined at some point for it. I’d argue those fines should be even more than they are, but still. At some point, they’re likely to get bitten by it.
