Turns out that Oz is getting the Commodore version of this (Tourer) but with the 3.6L V6. And that’ll be the only engine choice for the moment. And it’ll be AWD only.

Had a work truck manage this. Toyota Dyna diesel. I took off up the road from the depot and the oil light came on. Went back to the shed and checked the oil. The dipstick looked like it had been dipped in Vegemite.
Yeah we get that too. The US not so much nor the Hilux it is based on. The concept will have nothing to do with it.

Agreed but they are not actually centre mounted and speedo (whilst not centred to the streering wheel) is in drivers sightline. 1st gen Yaris had similar arrangment...
