Subaru has no need for an STI version of this. It already offers the WRX. Plus it’s already expensive compared to the 86 and Subaru have made their coin from it anyway or at least accepted that’s all the coin they are going to make. And the Miata now comes as a 2 door hardtop.

I have a similar if less complicated arrangement on my16 year old diesel VW T4 so the cool air can get to the top mounted intercooler without a bonnet scoop sucking in leaves, dust, water and wayward pidgeons

We have been doing 0.05 in Oz since the mid 80s. We can still out drink anyone in Utah. And there’s no shortage of tourists, restaurants and hospitality. Or driving.

In Oz, we get the 2.0L engine as well and with manual but the 2.5 is only available with the CVT.
