That doesn’t make sense, though. If they missed the error, the preview wouldn’t seem dishonest, because it would actually make a lot of sense - the game DOES feel very formulaic and similiar (because it’s the same game!). It was absolutely true then and the criticisms were absolutely valid...if, you know, it wouldn’t…

That’s like asking for cliff notes of a movie coming with the packaging so you don’t actually have to watch it to know what’s going on.

I saw the demo, i had the same presentation Julian had. It’s the same. The trailer you are seeing simply has cuts inbetween the scenes. It’s not brightened up, slowed down or changed. It has cuts because it’s a trailer.

That’s not what a “bullshot” is.

That is not a bullshot trailer though. That is 1:1 captured from the demo.

But you were never able to play as yourself in Rust. You never had a choice. This is just one more thing you don’t have a choice with.

Also, if you define your character by your nationality and find yourself unable to even imagine being “yourself” with another nationality...that’s problematic.

Pro Tip: Watch this with a modern smartphone. Way cooler ;)
