Offsides is off sides in any sport. In football if a certain player is moving or a few inches off the play is called a penalty asap, that’s not reviewable. Hockey doesn’t have the luxury of lining up for each play so yes reviews are necessary.

Sully deserves a lot of credit for keeping Kessel and Malkin focused on playing a team game. They have a tendency to go rogue. There have been a few times this season where MS has had to really get on those two.

I was thinking the same thing reading his quote about managing the bench chirping. The man did an excellent job starting from when he was hired. And no: it isn’t just because of his top 6 that the Pens are successful. He’s an enormous part of their turn around.

The Sens play the most mind-numbingly boring style of hockey. But it is successful at minimizing chances, so frustration on the Oens bench is not surprising, but man, don’t you want to give a longing Reverand Lovejoy “Awww, that’s super” to Kessel all the time?

Mike Sullivan is consistently one of the most quotable coaches in the NHL, not in the sense that Torts is (because Torts is an ass) but in the sense that he is thoughtful and shares actually interesting, well-put together takes on moments and events.

if that’s how you stop, you shouldn’t even be playing beer league

Both hands on the stick, stick held away from the body, slamming the head. That’s an obvious cross-check.

“Penguins Beat Capitals After Late Fleury Of Insane Saves” Fixed.

It’s my favorite annual rite of spring: the Penguins ripping the heart out of Capitals’ fans collective chest, in the most painful way possible.

Canada would still not have made the 2018 World Cup. They didn’t make the top six in CONCACAF.

It has been 9 years since I deployed to Iraq. I spent 15 months there doing convoy recovery. Since I got back I’ve dealt with at times crippling PTSD, and about three years ago my therapist recommended I try playing a more realistic war game, as it apparently helps many people (though honestly I don’t know how). Why no mention of Sylville Smith being a convicted felon with an extensive rap sheet, in possession of a stolen hand gun and tons of ammo, running from the cops and turning the gun towards the black cop that rightfully shot him when he wouldn’t listen to the police? Yeah, you link a story to it, but c’mon most people
