“Applying to 10-20 schools is a problem, but mostly because it is an expensive and time-intensive process that favors upper income families who have the funds and vacation time to craft targeted applications and make campus visits. Poor kids and their parents rarely have the resources to apply that extensively. But,

They mad because he did what white kids are taught to do; apply to safety schools and reach schools in your geographic area and also apply to schools that fit that criteria nationally.

I’m thankful that this woman’s paranoia over knee grows lead her to purchasing robust security measures. Otherwise, this would have been a he said / she said situation.

As a former Fayetteville NC resident:

I’m Sigma_Since93 and I approve this message.

I’m not looking at the art sellers, I’m looking at curators. This is what I found:

Especially when you factor in most galleries are in locals with a high cost of living. It’s hard to get by on $35 -$40K and pay back Sallie Mae living in some of these cities.

I was reading about the situation at the Brooklyn gallery on The Undefeated and it did get me thinking about the pipeline. As a means of self preservation, are we touting the profession as a viable career? If we can point to degreed men and women in the field that are being looked over, can the power structure claim

Here’s a sentence lifted from a review from the IndieWire:

The argument is why the surprise....folks have been telling you that we are diverse. The real issue is what pitches get green lit and what pitches do not. I would bet my paycheck that there have been several Atlanta / Insecure pitches over the years that didn’t make it because they weren’t urban enough, gritty, or the

First, my very firs comment was “The masses are not looking for us to be as nuanced as we are.”

I wouldn’t call it a mess; every action has intended and unintended consequences. We all, myself included, complain about the unintended consequences but fully leverage the results of the intended consequences.

The thing that Al and the old guard have been blessed to do is live. Life has afforded Al and crew the opportunity to see another movement come behind them and the ability to work out differences before being snuffed out.

We’re close in age and if you were to google it, you will see that there were articles.....lots of them. Yes they were called petty and selfish but can you think of any black character that was allowed to operate in that vein back then? In reality, we both know people who act like that. People are acting as if this is

“See the problem is you state a conclusion as if it’s an obvious fact or an argument, when it is only an interpretive conclusion. Perhaps if you provided some rationale to support your conclusion you would receive fewer arguments otherwise.”

We’ll split hairs on this topic. We always have a tendency to want more. Overton was a character that definitely needed to be developed past his building super with country wisdom stick. I also look at:

“Standing Insecure next to Seinfeld is an inappropriate comparison”

“I just wanted to say, I’ve had enough with this, “Oh, these shows, these movies, they are overvalued because they are white, etc.,” which is, in itself, writing them off because they are white shows, etc.”

I couldn’t agree more about the entertaining part. The mere fact you have two high school girls that are independent and quirky get pregnant...one movie gets lauded and the other barely gets a mention. That’s what has always irked me.

If you want to stop, stop committing time and effort to comment on MY posts. There’s more than enough fodder and think pieces out there to validate and connect the points I made.
