Crowd sourcing public works, what could possibly go wrong?

I'm so happy to see commenters pointing out how ridiculous this man was, right off the bat. The Le was probably a sociopath.

I advocate studying Le Corbusier so that we can be sure never to repeat his atrocities.

NB: Punch Cards ARE digital.

Those updates do get coverage, but they tend to have very staggered rollouts, and the vast majority of Android users might never even see them (until they one day buy a new phone). The install base of iOS is massive, and almost every one of those devices is getting an upgrade at the same time. It's also the biggest

I convinced my non-tech savvy partner to install iOS 7 on his 4s last Thursday. I lured him in with the prettiness. He loves it, thinks they made some great improvements to what he uses (namely stock apps) and has figured things out pretty quickly. Definitely likes the makeover. Btw, this is someone who didn't know

I happen to be a librarian at a "bookless" library (full disclosure: we do still keep good ol' paper and glue books when it makes sense to do so). A few more points to add to the conversation:

1. Ebooks have some real benefits. Many ebooks can be rendered in a wide variety of font sizes, sometimes in multiple

kind of a misleading headline, it's free to 99% of users. and same cost as before to everyone else.

Because parks are sinkholes for money and eventually crime follows. Some green space is fine but since this whole damn place is already paved and laid out for commercial use might as well keep going.

The "explosive landing" is indeed standard procedure... The capsule has solid rocket engines lining the capsule that fire just before impact to soften the landing. THIS IS NORMAL.

Happened to me more times than I care to recall as well. I totally agree with you - the "midnight" statement was just lazy editing. I think she got that out of the original NASA press release (though NASA did note that it is 9 a.m. in Kazakhstan). As for time zones, I feel your pain. Once I had someone call me from

Yeah, I was kind of thinking since she made the "brilliant ball of fire" part of her headline, it would've been nice to explain what it is for those who don't know.

The fire is Soyuz solid fuel motors firing just before it slams into the ground and tips onto its side.

So why's it on fire, exactly?

This whole "fingerprint bypassing other authentication methods" is going to go great until you hear about frat bros getting their passed out mates to pay for $100 fart apps.

...and we all learned that unlike the old Apple, they are willing to throw in technology that isn't 100% rock solid (looking at you Siri!)

Very underrated movie.

I feel like I've seen this before....

I feel the complete opposite. The old iCloud looked like they just squeezed an iPhone til it pooped out a bunch of icons, and the end result was not pretty. This new one looks like something I'd actually use.
