Not every federal building requires an ID. They are really talking about controlled-access buildings where you can’t enter unless you have an appointment (like, say, FBI headquarters, the White House, the Pentagon, etc). Courts and congressional offices don’t generally fall into that category.

I’m not up on the Real ID process and you seem to be up to speed on it, so would you mind indulging me for a minute? Would a Real ID be valid identification to cross the border into Canada, or would I still need a passport?

Real ID is not a national ID. Its just a set of standards to make state-issued identification cards more standardized.

Just guessing - are you here in Arizona? I recently moved across town and got a new AZ license with a new address, and the big “NOT FOR FEDERAL IDENTIFICATION” stamped across the top.

Well, it is credible that not every sugar daddy relationship in the world results in sex. And when both sides deny it, that’s really the end of the story. Unless the idea is that we need to subject all the cheerleaders to virginity exams to confirm they have been innocent and chaste.

Well, since Coastal Carolina is a public university, they could also just butt-the-fuck-out of their students’ personal lives and quit policing their appearance completely-legal personal behaviors.

Well, the headline doesn’t say prostitute, it says, “working part-time jobs, dating men”, so it would seem that the college itself is intent on branding the cheerleaders as prostitutes, not Deadspin.

can’t we entertain the discussion of why did person X, famous, wealthy, in control of his own career, not feel comfortable coming out until 2017, when essentially the world already accepted him as gay for years if not decades?

Coming out isn’t for the people around you, its for yourself and affirmation of who you are inherently. This is why the “we already knew” isn’t just tone deaf, it’s answering a statement from the perspective that the information is for your benefit alone.

This is also why the giggle-laced coverage of Jodie Foster bugs me, and it seems that she has accepted that situation with a healthy dose of humor—if she has let such things get to her personally, she’s not showing it.

Well, for one thing, Barry Manilow is a celebrity. So there’s naturally more interest, on his part, and from his fans and the public, in a “big” announcement of some kind. Just like there’s interest in celebrity marriages and pregnancies. I’m not saying its required, but we shouldn’t begrudge him from taking advantage

What I was referring to (if recollection serves) was the revelation that he’d been in a committed long-term relationship with Garry (this was something like a couple years ago?).

Yeah, the article is diminishing how important the coming out process is. Saying “People already had an idea” is missing the point. When someone says that, they are acting like someone else’s coming out process is all about them, as if coming out is some sort of informational service to them, to which they are

I’ve found this perception exists because many Americans mistakenly think that all of Mexico is like Tijuana (that city is a completely different story). They have no idea how cosmopolitan Mexico City is.

Dude, he came out as gay a long time ago.

This news is not about whether Barry Manilow is gay.

The news is not that Manilow is gay. The news is that he publicly came out.

Good for Barry.

I don’t know, the one in the Prius is center mounted, but it is far further back on the dash, visually very close to the base of the windshield. You don’t really have to look “down” to see it, plus the numbers are quite large. The screen mockup for the Tesla seems both too-small, and also located on the front of the

Continental European airports are almost laughably easy to get through passport control and customs with a U.S. passport. I’ve entered the Schengen zone through France, Spain, Sweden, Greece, Malta, and Portugal. Every time, they ask hardly any questions, and wave you on through. The guy in the Athens airport didn’t
