There isn’t a more inaccurate quarterback prospect in this draft with a reasonable chance at being drafted. Hackenberg is inaccurate at every level of the field, on all throws and against all coverages.

At some point you would think teams would get better at evaluating QB prospects who played with elite WRs. Hack’s one decent season involved throwing the ball in the direction of Allen Robinson. Johnny Manziel’s offense outside of scrambling was all Mike Evans.
I’ll fight you.
I truly hope this plays an integral role.
“Who the fuck cares?”
I’m just so happy this happened before the Dolphins WYTS.
soldier field in chicago too. Walter Payton basically died young because he took too many painkillers to keep playing on that surface. The rest of the 85 Bears arent in great physical shape now either.
I grew up a Raiders fan and was stationed at Marine Barracks Wash DC when that game happened. I had people flipping me off and shouting epithets from their cars at me when I walked around town with my Radiers cap on.
This is one of the least mentioned parts of the CTE story. Stadiums like The Vet, Busch, Riverfront, Three Rivers... these “fields” were like playing on concrete if not worse. I’m waiting for the first lawsuit in which cities are named as a party for the increased rates of former players now suffering CTE and other…
I have a very hard time with this take. “They’ve all but eliminated the enforcer and “goons””? What about tolerating or even encouraging them to sell tickets until a couple years ago?
Glad you brought hockey into this conversation, it needs to be included. Will Crosby even know his own name in 10 years? It’s not just the goons who are a mess later in life.
That’s not a real accurate statistic to use in this context. It includes kids that died in their crib, at age 5, 10, 15, etc. We’re talking about how football has effected his life. What’s the life expectancy of a world class 20 year old athlete who doesn’t spend his 20s and 30s playing professional football? What…
Same. Had no hesitation about watching football for 30 years, then starting last year I found myself starting to question it—player health and the league response, oligarch conspiracy vs Kaep, owner-friendly player contracts, Goodell. I’ll probably still watch some this year but I kind of see it fade away for me over…
My dad’s 70 something, he walks with a cane and probably needs back surgery, he sure as hell isn’t playing golf or climbing mountains. My mom’s not 70 yet and she’s had both knees replaced and has arthritis so bad some days she can’t drive.
Yeah, I think the gripe of most people, and the rightful gripe of the NFLPA, is the lying about the effects of concussions—as well as the continued dickish waffling over “Durr, well, we just don’t know why a preponderance of our former players have brain damage. Durr, I only know sausage links, not causal ones.”
Plus he began his career with 5 years in New England, where he took 146 sacks in only 61 games. Old Schaefer/Foxboro Stadium had terrible turf too.
A 70 year old friend is leaving next week to climb Mt Whitney for the 20th straight year. He rides his bike over 10k miles/year.
Plunkett took a ton of sacks playing the Raiders long-ball O, and the surface of all those awful 70s stadiums with thin turf on top of concrete was not real forgiving when your body hit it
