I usually cannot like whatever new Tesla that comes soley because of a lot of the owners I come across and, of course, Musk himself but this.....is impressive and maybe the first one I’d actually consider. Somehow the 3 looks better Y-ified.

I have mixed feelings on this. I never like to see companies go down and people lose their jobs but this (lack of a) plan seems doomed to fail.

Not AFAIK. When the transmission in our ‘88 Ranger went out, I remember getting one from a contemporary Mazda pickup and installing it without having to change a thing.

I’ve always really liked these. The design aged very well, just like the R10 and C/K SUVs that were out around the same time. It looks like it has plenty of years/miles left and <$2K is basically throwaway money. NP. 

That, however, is immenesly cooler.

Swap in a Ford 3L, 4L, or even a 5L when/if that happens. It can be done in a weekend.

Why that motor had to be rebuilt, I’m unsure, since the AMC inline-six is normally an unkillable motor.

Somehow this looks both better and worse than a Saturn Sky. It’s definitely cool, but not $32K cool. At about half this price, it may be worth a look and even then.....it would require some careful consideration for a $16K car that you’ll have to keep forever. CP
