Use auto masking tape instead of duct tape

While I support this approach, and frankly love the idea, I don't think I can agree with using duct tape. Good duct tape is very sticky can could leave residue, or worse pull up paint from a panel edge or from crappy paint. Instead look for yellow masking tape or simply use the backside of a plastic caution tape.

It amazes me that people park like asshats - they're just making themselves targets for vandals. I ain't saying it is right, I'm simply saying that it is a risk.

which parts? I'm seeing maybe $5k in parts here. The rest is a $900 non-running truck (prior to the swap).

I think the reposting of the article barely touches on the most important point which is that the cars are being abandoned without any damage to the vehicle. A lot of the comments below seem to miss that point.

Yeah, 3 cars a day seems rather ambitious for one man. Even if we assume he's only responsible for the difference between a normal month and the high months, that's like 65 cars a month, or over 2 each day.
